I'm following the English scanlation by Scienceyscans, so I've read through only the first 3 chapters translated (there's only 4 chapters out currently though so they aren't far behind the source material.) If my thoughts change later so will this comment.
The art in this is pleasant to look at as long, as you can ignore their lack of noses in most s, which is something I'm already used to doing. The way Kawano-sensei draws fur, fabric, and backgrounds is very pleasing to the eye, I like her art.
The ing of the manga so far has also been good, she's not afraid to have elements from one spill over into another , which is something I love to see.
When it comes to the characters, I'm fond of the main character Karina's design. Really, all of the humans have designs I like so far, but Karina really looks good. Her style as the "villainess" seems distinct from the "good" characters, Aurora (Karina's sister) and Prince Orlando (Karina's former betrothed), while not being so different from them that it seems like Karina's outfit is from an alien culture. I can see how she progressed from her childhood designs, that we see in a flashback, to her present day design. You can see elements present in other's outfits present in hers, but adjusted just enough that she doesn't really fit in. In my opinion it shows her as a fashion-forward person without putting her in a jarringly modern outfit like some manga decide to do.
Beyond Karina's design, the motivations for her "villainess" behaviour that we see in flashbacks actually make sense! That's something I always appreciate with "villainess" characters. For Karina it's not other people misunderstanding her actions, she's not some angel, but her misinterpreting how to appropriately handle the situations she's in, which is far more interesting to me. She also seems to be of average intelligence so far, not incredibly dumb, nor smarter than the author knows how to write (a trait I hate the most). When witnessing Karina's thought process I'm not tearing my hair out at how someone could be so dumb, far from it! She's within 1 standard deviation of "average intelligence" slightly leaning on the dumb side, and I weep blood over how grateful I am for that.
As for other characters: we don't see him much, but I love Prince Orlando's design maybe the most. The intricate design of his outfit doesn't come across as ostentatious, it's an outfit fitting of royalty but he's not so handsome that he overshadows our main character. I'd like to know more about his motivations as to why he broke it off with Karina. It seems like maybe Aurora's got something to do with it.
I'm really intrigued by the malice coming off of Aurora in chapter 3! I want to know what led to Aurora to view her sister so negatively that she's willing to lead a force against Karina for the express purpose of killing her. With how it's shown that Karina's wants were shoved away for Aurora's in childhood, I expect there to be some level of entitlement Aurora feels to whatever Karina has, but like how did it escalate so severely?
Finally, our resident love Reshutoka's design isn't really to my taste... While I'm liking her personality so far, and I do want to know more about the Wolf Tribe (especially their history with humans), Reshutoka's design specifically... I can't get over the boob window, or how her legs are almost entirely exposed. A character introduced later also has their main robe (?) end at the same length as Reshutoka, but they wear some sort of pants too! Reshutoka why are you like this?!
I think it's supposed to convey her more brazen attitude and that she prioritizes fashion over warmth, or something like that, but personally it's just aggravating to see. I suppose with Karina also being a fashion-forward woman they'll be a very fashionable couple.
I wish there was more of this story available to read. That's my only real problem with this somewhat interesting love story so far. It's got an okay set up so far, and I've got lots of hope for it to become a great story. I'll be eagerly awaiting further updates.
