Description

I forget the last time I head this manga but it stuck with me so I came back to it very recently. I think the story is good because the main couple is really cute. There are definite problems with some of the side characters that are basically being homophobic at times and the sa that is played off as a joke. These are all common topics that appear in a lot yaoi and it’s obvious these are more jokes than anything but it’s fair to say this could upset a reader. For myself, I enjoy the main relationship and everything else is just filler to fuel conflict in the story. Will read again I’m sure.

they keep berating this kid for bottoming and being a "homo" :|
And then that weird sadistic rapist who keeps threatening everyone with rape.... you can tell a straight girl whos never met a gay guy wrote this. yikes

fuck this series. I mean it's not even that bad, but it's so overrated and nobody seems to have the problem with the characters that I do. like, fuck these guys.

so the protag is the uke, he's actually okay, but it's how everyone in universe treats him, they shit all over him and it's never treated like a bad thing, and it pisses me the fuck off. the seme on the other hand can do no wrong and somehow that is also okay? like wtf. they also have a big thing where the seme absolutely REFUSES to bottom, which for yaoi is normal and while normally I don't care because it's handwaved or just never discussed, but this comic makes it clear that the uke would like to top but never will because the seme just doesn't want to for lame ass reasons, and since it tries to be a realistic relationship the thing comes off as an unhealthy onesided dynamic that's shit

the seme is okay mostly but the one thing that pisses me off is that how while the uke is shat all over by the whole effing world, he's treated like he's perfect even though he's a turd too. it's dumb.

there's this side character named satonaka who's like a weird rapist fuck. like seriously, he's a sadist into bondage (which is fine) but the series makes it clear that he would 100% rape the straight guy he has a crush on if he weren't stronger than him. and this is supposed to be funny ??? like everyone finds it to be endearing, and again rape is everywhere in yaoi and normally idgaf but when the series tries to be serious and have well developed emotional progress in the main couple and also pulls this whole "rape is okay" bullshit it's fucking weird and gross and what in the actual fuck. how he treats the uke is totally different than how he treats the seme. like he and the seme try to date and that's what kicks off the story, but he's not the protagonist so obvi the uke and seme hook up and it happens while they are still dating, and he PUNCHES THE UKE IN THE STOMACH for cheating and is just all "it's okay fumi you were seduced let's break up amicably" like fuck you they both screwed you ever also your bf is way more at fault for virtue being your bf than this fuck is, and it's just one thing but honestly this is the template for how all conflict between them is treated for the entire series, everything is always the uke's fault and everyone likes the seme more even the uke's sister. speaking of fucking which

the uke's sister. FUCK THIS FUCKING KID FUCK FUCK FUCK. she's a fujoshi, and there's a trend of fujoshi side characters in yaoi rn and honestly I'm down for that it's hilarious and tongue and cheat and honestly we're all pervs let's treat our representatives as such, but this KID IS THE WORST. she things the seme is hot and he's been part of her pervy BL fantasies so when she finds out he's dating her brother she gets mad at him and wants them to break up because she can't fantasize if her brother is involved. this is the dumbest most fucking selfish homophobic thing i've ever fucking scene. real fangirls do this with gay men and just like go effing shoot yourselves you selfish little shits real people aren't your stupid fucking fetish fuel and he's your fucking brother and they're in love what's wrong with you ughhhhhh. so she tries to break them up indirectly by giving her brother a gay sex book to scare him away with the reality of anal sex (lots of prep, possible tearing) and it almost works but they figure shit out and then she gets mad at them for fucking but forgives fumi because she wants to stay close to him and totally ignores her brother (honestly fumi isn't that bad I just FUCKING HATE HIM because everyone treats him like he can do no wrong eat a bag of dicks this whole god damn cast fuck)

THEN there's a weird plot where fumi models for a pervy sculpture who's its to being sexually attracted to him but fumi does it anyway even though it involes him being shirtless and letting this pervert grope him, and this pisses off uke who is dating him at this point and obviously opposes this, because he wants to make him jealous and it's the dumbest most fucking selfish manipulative thing ever and NOBODY CALLS HIM ON IT they're all "lol you deserve this shunpei" like no he fucking doesn't he's done nothing wrong and been faithful and tried his best to be a good bf to this turd, who cares that he was oblivious to fumi's one sided crush for years he didn't fucking know fuck these guys. and the sister finds out this developmeng and instead of trying to help her brother or her childhood friend stay together, she wants fumi to hook up with the new guy, because younger seme is hotter. seriously. she fucking says that. kouhai seme moe. fuck this selfish fucking bitch fuck you all

Fun read with beautiful art

I enjoyed it on a Sunday afternoon.

Art- 10...amazing artwork.
Story- I found the uke very charming and liked the pace so 9.5. I enjoyed the couple and liked the fact that they have been friends for a very long time. This is not just about sex and no emotions, I actually found some parts to be emotional and can understand holding on to feelings for so long.

I will round it to ten for the my enjoyment level. I should mention that I also liked the humor, the uke was hilarious.

I first read the extra of this manga in one chapter from Hidoku Shinaide which is another work from the same author. I really liked the extra so I was looking forward to read the whole manga. I absolutely adore Hidoku Shinaide that's why I had high hopes for this one, only to be disappointed after I read it.

It's not bad tbh but having read the other works of this authors makes this one pretty meh. Some plot tries to stir you up but would eventually fail. The characters were not that special. The only interesting characters that left an impact to me were the student council president and the guy who sculpts. I noticed that Nekota-sensei was trying to make a the same ambience to Hidoku Shinaide but the characters were pretty weak so they failed to do so. Also they shouldn't have dragged this till the 4th volume. 2 volumes should be enough.

Anyway this is still a good read. I did enjoy some parts after all, but yeah....

Seconding the review below me. I wanted to like this story because I usually like this author, but the story completely loses whatever charm it possessed after the first volume or so. Characters range from forgettable to frustrating, while attempts to further the plot through inane fits of jealousy (or stupidity) do little to mask that the author has run out of ideas and is only pulling cliches out of a bag to keep the story going..

The only redeeming factors (let's be real) are the art, which progressively improves, and by extension the sex. But by the time you've gotten to the sex part, you'd be wondering why you wasted 20 minutes reading cliched plot points and one-dimensional characters for something so... forgettable.

This reads like a dumb shoujo manga. Full of cliches. Superficial. The characters have no complexity, the relationship has no depth. They use the old, "if you don't have sex with me, it means you don't really love me" trope. I find it distasteful. Pressuring your friend into sex, while holding your friendship with him hostage is really a scumbag thing to do. The friend is no better: he's just an idiot who goes along with things because, well... he's an idiot. But that's the kind of manga this is: all about sex, zero emotional connection. I don't even recommend it as a light read because it's not very entertaining or funny or cute, just... mediocre.

Well i enjoyed it the art is so good and the plot is okay, though i didn't know if its completed or not but it looks like that is the ending in the manga. Yeah it is a good read, with some ridiculous argument and making up. It's funny

I can't stop reading this again and again. I just love the pairing; the uke-like seme scenario is one of my favourites, and I love the yaoi-reading sister and her reactions to her brother's new homo relationship. The sex scenes are really hot, and perhaps what I enjoy the most is that no matter what he tries, Shunpei always ends up the 'neko.'
I would recommend this to anyone who, like me, is getting sick of girly ukes.

One the one hand, I liked that both guys could be nice or mean or possessive or attracted to each other or clever or stupid or a range of other things. They weren't completely one dimensional. Also, it wasn't only one of them who initiated physical affection, or who got embarrassed by something. That was really nice to see.

On the other hand, the story kind of beat to death the idea that 'gay is different.' Ugh. We get it - sex ed sucks and doesn't address anything useful. Also, the idea that only one of them should penetrate or be penetrated anally is ridiculous. And they made a HUGE deal out of that (it got so boring so fast, I had to skip chapters).

So, overall, it was okay. Interesting in some ways and so very dull in others. In general, I'd call it above average mostly.
