One of the best webtoons out there!
In plot, character design, and especially ART-top marks in every category. It's as good as, if not better, than season 1 of Tower of God. Though it's hard to compare because each has a different mood. TOG is much darker at any rate. But TOG never had me laughing as hard as this. Some of the characters' facial expressions and gestures just killed me, some are pure genius and overall the author is very very good at making things consistently funny without ignoring the action.
Rood is also brilliant and completely loveable as the unwilling protagonist. My one criticism is that the villains here (and in TOG and other webtoons) are often too one-dimensional. Nevertheless, Black Haze is just awesome.
Highly recommended to any fans of fantasy and anyone who loves rolling on the floor laughing 😉
in reality. If you got something much good compare with other people. Then this would be so hard to keep bragging about.
Well, do you get what i mean
This main got some brain. He's calms and has jugde ability. I'm not saying other hero type or what is annoying (for ex: luffy). It just they're attractive in different way.
To blunt. Simple character is easily accepted by simple person as well.
It's really good, it has good pacing and each chapter is both lively and moves the plot forward, the only caveat is that there seems to be a bunch of context that it doesn't really explain anywhere. Basically, there's a bunch of wizard associations and it doesn't really explain their relationships or what they do. The protagonist is also really well known for some thing that happened in the past that isn't really explained. Personally, I don't think these hurt it much, but I could understand someone being a bit displeased about it.
I hate how the low ratings are because people are complaining that our hero is complaining that our hero can't go apeshit on enemies to solve problems.
Well I for one actually like it that he thinks before he uses his power. He uses his powers after diplomacy fails and I like that about a hero. He has brains.
The comments about pacing are a bit true. The pacing is a bit slow but it definitely is a good read and keeps you on your toes everytime. Very good webtoon and definitely worth your time.
just answer this///
you are a hero with great power, your friends are in dying(emergency) situation(somewhere else and you know the location) and then you meet an obstacle...
what you will do//
option---
a] you are going to smak him then head back to you friends to save them..
b] you are going to chit chat with him and take action later...
c] you are going to ingnore obstacle and priotize saving your friends first..
d] you going to save your ass.....just kidding
in this webtoon our hero goes for option b] everytime......
doesnt he have smart brain////
. .
.,
more importantly its super slow..
for example a simple phone call took full one chapter...
all our hero do it ...he thinks...he thinks more......he thinks most.......and end of chapter comes and action will be taken in another 5 chapters.....just dragger,,,/////////
I second noobzilla. I think most of the commenters have good points, including the negative ones: this is not a series with great art, it doesn't have new original ideas, the characters are pretty superficial, but...
Somehow it's really fun to read. The pacing is only bad in the magic stone auction arc, which is a bit annoying, at the beginning, but gets better in the academy arc, the hidden identity of celebrity-kick ass magician adds a constant comic irony to the story and the characters do actually develop. At the current stage of the story (chapter 60), there has also been some development of the 'bad guys' and some pretty tense situations to defuse.
Gets my recommendation.
As a mage-ruled fantasy story, this is not entirely generic. I can't put my finger on it but it has the all the right hooks to keep you reading - the main character is such a wish fulfillment type of hero that you can't help but like him. It doesn't get a perfect score but it has a lot of potential and I think the story telling is well done. So far so good, i'd recommend it, and I don't normally recommend mainstream type shounen easily.
I tend to wait a few weeks and read multiple chapters in a go, it's quite enjoyable, I don't see anything wrong with pacing or plot arrangement.
I have read this work until the latest released chapter. I am frankly surprised at its high rating. It is extremely slow paced. The action is okay, but nothing to brag about. Character development is extremely lacking, bordering on comedy and parody. The art is good for a colored series. I give this series a 6/10. Nothing special, but worth reading if you are bored.
rood just totally rock \m/ . . this webtoon reminds me of noblesse. I really love these "I'm strong but i dont care" type of protagonists. I guess what really brought this webtoon up is ROOD. I just hope this won't get repetitive just like in noblesse. If that happens i would give this one a 10. ;D
the story's quite unique , it's just that all those mysteries kept on piling up that it kinda gave me a headache -,-" . hope they would reveal atleast one on the releases. beside that it's a "thumbs up" for me.
keep it up sensei !!
keep it up scanlator-san !! \m/
