This story is an excellent example of how to do romantic comedy right. Unfortunately, the ending left a lot to be desired.
To be clear, I'm super happy they didn't go to the bedroom. I didn't want this to end there. But the kiss scene felt like one of the worst s in the manga for reasons that are hard to describe. The art style was... too much? Lineart wasn't as clean. I probably also would have liked to see a second, less spontaneous kiss happen after the first one.
I also would have liked a few more pages on their life once dating began. Just to give the reader the feel that things actually were different.
But, the second biggest reason this ending felt abrupt was the failure to follow up on the other cast . Especially Misuzu and Tatsumi. Not necessarily them ending up together, but they are characters I wanted to find out what the general direction each of their love lives may have gone.
Honestly, if the author decided to change up the genre to properly follow Tatsumi and/or Misuzu in a different manga, that would be awesome. Or, if keeping the same genre, Tatsumi's little sister. After finding Jun taken, her own story could start as she looks for her perfect man while hijinks ensue. Then we might see Tatsumi and Misuzu develop in the background while getting a whole new story with a different comedy pivot.
But until then, this story is what it is and I enjoyed the ride a lot.
