I've finished "Sing "Yesterday" to me"..
Its name is still melancholic, and I've not gotten a solid understanding of its meaning now with the context of what the story behind the title is. My interpretation of its meaning is: "If only I was smarter yesterday things would've gone the way they were destined for much sooner.". That is a theme throughout the whole manga I'd say. The sad note in that is that had stuff been realized sooner, the destined journey would've been started that much sooner and with that the travelers would have that much more time to cover more distance on their path in the limited lifetime. But but it's really fine, it was a lot of time, but not too much. The beginning of the journey was delayed by only some 3 years for the.. Main plot.
As always, I got new fictional characters I like, which is great for me without basically any real life friend(s).
Haru Nonaka!
The treasure of this story for me.

The story is realistic for me. Additionally, it is especially realistic because of how realistic the developments in particular are. They are slow, both in the sense of how slow the story feeds us itself and in the sense of the time that es in the story for developments to occur. I would have thoughts, as I was thinking about the story when I was not reading it, how what I was reading is like drawn real life.. It's like.. I wondered how many people would like to read that, I pondered that those who are not happy with life themself, regarding a romantic relationship or interest by itself, are more likely to like this story than those who don't check that box. I had the thought that I could be reading something a lot more "fun"; Eventful, not just a fictional real life. Well anyways I'm trying to explain the way in which I find this story to be realistic and thus it checking a particular check box of realism in story telling. As the ending of the story was nearing, I had it in my mind, I wondered what the result of it all will be. It's great! Very satisfactory! It is overall quite a dramaless story but it ends so nicely!! Very lovely and very maturely, no one is left forgotten by the story, everyone gets a healthy conclusion. Primarly. Ugh. how do I say this without it being spoiler.. Unlike with Nisekoi in which I was rooting for.. Ah nevermind this would be spoilers for Nisekoi. Well "best girl" wins!!! And no one is sad as the result!! She "wins" in such a mature way, as I've said, no character is left unconcluded or concluded on a sad note.. The authoress neatly wrapped it all up. Nothing happened just for it to happene because it's nice or something, nothing is patched up just to yield the wanted result even though it would leave you with questions in your mind; The dialogue of the characters resolves everything; Nothing feels wrong or less than concluded in a manner that signifies everyone maturing.
The manga and the anime are substantially different. In the later half by a lot. Whole characters and thus their side plots, which all contribute to the main plot in a remarkable way, are missing from the anime. The very delivery of the ending in the anime is also substantially different for one big reason which I can't go into without making spoilers. But but, it's still lovely, the anime and it does end just like the manga, when all's put into its final place! It's likely to feel a bit rushed I think, not sure because I knew "everything" as I was reading the manga and then watching an episode of the anime covering the chapters I'd just read so no knowledgr was missing for me when I watched the anime.
The anime is lovely for its music and sound design because it ties with what I've mentioned about about the story itself; The story being quite realistic I mean. Music isn't spammed, it's only played at certain times. At all other times, there's no music, just the regular sounds of daily life, or wind.. It's also what made me think to myself how the story is quite mundane, not what fiction is likely more often than not used for. The voice acting is also splendid! I like the fact that I don't ever having heard Rikuo's voice actor anywhere else, it helps make the character special. But anyways, Haru's, Shinako's and Rikuo's voice acting is lovely.
Also, regarding the anime, the first 5 or so endings are phenomenal. Each is dedicated to a single character with items we know are their laying on a surface as the lovely song goes. Haru's ending with the ripped cinema ticked touched me sweetly and gave me a dose of that suffocating feeling.
As I've finished the story it's been on my mind. Usually I feel sad when I finish a story because it's the end of my window into the lives of characters I like/live. With this story that feeling is almost entirely lacking in presence. I'm satisfied with how it ends and the only sad thing is that I'll probably never have what the characters in the story have.
