Speaking from someone who read the first 98 chapters in one go, the rape isn't overplayed. It's realistically disturbing because Haguro wants to break Aoshika down into a nothingness just to see the look on Inugami's face. He wants that look of despaire/anger/hatred or whatever to feel supreme and like a monster. How would any of us feel about having our significant other raped and we get to see scenes? It's not different this way, he's just showing what she has to go through and how she's going through it, which is terrible, but the manga doesn't have a happy ring to it, now does it? I may have a differing opinion if I read the chapters one by one, and I may agree with ya'll, but all in one go, I don't. 1t533s

Just a couple of thoughts

The rape hasn't gone on that long, the chapters are small and the scanlations have been quite slow so maybe that's just the feeling we get. It's almost as if we come back to read after 6 months and the rape is still going on

The rape is explicit, and maybe disgusting - but it's also made to be that way to agitate the reader, make them hate it, and just generally provoke strong feelings towards the manga. Yes - there will be some people who can't stomach this and stop reading it, but for me personally - whilst disturbing the latest arc added to the awesomeness and realism of this si-fi manga

volume 12 finished most of whats out still 2 chapters but...

the author loves to have main character die, while it worked very well in akumetsu and
turned to be one of my favorites this ending was just... sad dont even think they kissed once before he died it was all "mass rape mass rape" feeling bad for the teacher from like 8+ volumes it was just depressing i wouldve liked a happy ending for once for all the trauma she went through yet the person she loved died thats just fucked up

the major issue is that in japan school isnt manditory (high school) therefore why would a gangsters son and his thugs be in school? kinda has to be middle school, but they were portrayed older than they were so i didnt have an issue with it
