It's tempting, when seeing how much work there is to do, to try to simplify the task by removing features. I'd resist that urge, especially for an old website, someone somewhere is going to have a dependency on literally every aspect of what you had before. For me, I had MU search configured for when I highlight + right click on titles on other sites, and now its broken. That's fine, I'll update it.

The bigger problem, as others have mentioned, is that author search doesn't work anymore. I can't stress enough that this makes the search feature useless. I will have to change my right click search to Google for "mangaupdates [author name]" instead.

This is something we had to do. We couldn't maintain the ancient 2004 code any longer and it was very difficult to add new features. Hopefully after we resolve the more immediate problems we can start adding new content again.

btw this might not need to be now but wish one day in the future mangaupdate upgrade its ui to be more friendly especially for mobile to search series include/exclude genres/tags easier like comick site did

I'm not really sure, but it seems you haven't adjusted the updates for mobile phone (or is it just me?). I used Opera browser on my Android, and my profile picture on the burger seems too big. The other 's profile picture on this forum are also too big and got mixed in with the text.

I want to add pictures, but I couldn't.

Not sure if it's just me, but when I go to any magazine's series page and change the "Order by" option, it ends up showing me every manga on the website instead of manga present in that particular magazine. This didn't use to happen before the update.

I did this with Cocohana's series page today and when I changed the order to sort by rating, it defaulted to all manga. (I was so confused at first on seeing SBR on top like since when was JJBA a josei?)

i'm not sure how to link to a series using its title anymore. typing this [m]Naruto[/m] used to work but it doesn't anymore. i'm also not sure how to format the text (like bolding) with this new reply box either. the code [b]...[/b] also doesn't work

also, i can't add a new series bc this message always shows up even when the series is not licensed in English and doesn't have a domestic publisher:

a few more problems i noted:

• this is the list of all manga series in the database: https://mangaupdates.conexionsite.com/series?letter=A&display=list&orderby=rating Notice how each title appears in a random language (usually from the associated names) instead of having the main title displayed?

• it's impossible to remove all associated names from an author's page. An error message like this always shows up:

Hi. You can use `manga Naruto` for Naruto, it's also working for authors and groups too, I wish it would for publishers too...

Regarding the other issue, you can use **...** for bold and *..* for italic. Also I think the new editor is worth giving a try.

The /series.html page is deprecated. We kept the ability to use it to find older series by link (i.e., series.html?id=15) but it doesn't do anything else.

One can open locked boxes but it´s not possible to update them. So that is good but having the ability to open them without an (?) with an editing window is pointless to begin with. They more importantly used to show instead why they were locked to begin with.

Edit: Is the ability to post small pictures in the forum gone for good now? I specifically mean the broken signatures all over.

Chrome 80 android 8.1, can't update app, storage insufficient. even trying in incognito still can't to the site. I'm now using other phone, that old phone was my main one.

I noticed that a demographic now must be selected or at least can´t be unselected and can only be moved around but we have children´s manga (a 5th Kodomo demo like Wikipedia has for stuff like Doraemon would solve this), manga with magazines without a target demo (Newtype) or even some books where these simply don´t apply. Twitter publications for example.

While I am here. Hentai is a democratic (well, a publication form) and one can argue that Doujinshi too belongs in the upper box.
