seriously this manga is still awesome so screw all you haters out there >.> Honestly for every1 who says that the same tricks are used in the actual cases go back and find 1 trick that is reused. Plz lolz the author is a genius he never uses the same trick and as for poison that every1 says is the same thats very common ay of killing people with that specific poison of course we'd be sho about 30 diff cases using that poison. Last but not least the manga may have gone on for all these years but if you actually go back and create in actual timeline the 759 chapters that have been going on so far only about 2 1/2 years have actually ed inside the story thats why theres not too much age progression. As for the Black orginisation there is plot devolpment. At around the last 25 chapters before chapter 700 came out we had a huge plot advancement. Im sure by chapter 780 the plot will further even more. I think the manga will end around 1000 chapters thats most likely the goal of the mangaka. 😀

the manga is actually pretty strong and consistent. the only predictable pattern seen is that Conan will solve the cases in the end. but then again that was predicted when it first started out. the story is very interesting, it's not for everybody though. if you can't stand lengthy stories than stay away from it, or away from most manga come to think of it.... despite what people say it's still fresh, and an interesting, yet simple look at the human behavior when it comes to the random cases.

oh just so you know, i reading about two years ago, the author already came up with his ending. so it's already mapped out, he's just going through with his story at his own pace.

I'd really love Conan (and read and collect the series) if it wasn't so long! Series like Naruto, One Piece, Bleach - it's great that they have SO MANY volumes, but I can't keep up! The only expection is Inuyasha. I made sure to have all 56 volumes of that. But if I collect a lot of manga. I don't have the money to collect 100 volume series or the time to read them!!

Long is nice, but there comes a point where you have to wrap it up for the good of your fans. Not saying he should end Conan (I own only one volume, and I'm happy with it.) I'm just saying some times you need to know where to draw that line. 🤢 Some die hard fans like me would kill themselves trying to own every volume.

I do wish for more plot development and the answers to the Black Organization in Conan...but, the cases are pretty interesting and I'm amazed at the author's ability to invent so many cases for Conan. I will definitely keep up with Conan despite its length to find out the end.

I'm with this guy. Along with that, we all kill ourselves (or maybe we are murded) waiting for Ran and Kudo/Conan to make some progress... but we still go crawling back each week loving the suspense. Also that recent 6-chapter long one was pretty good... was kinda' hoping Heiji wouldn't run away like that though.

One of the reasons why Detective Conan will not end anytime soon is because of the popularity of crime investigations and the methods of how each person was murdered and solved by a brilliant trick. Look at CSI, Law and Order, and all of those crime/drama shows, those kinds of tv series are still being aired and I would guess that they still have pretty decent ratings if they are still on air.

It is the fascination of murder and intrigue that makes a book or show last, or become popular.

Bah, the mangaka probably doesn't even think of the crimes and stuff anymore. I prefer a moving plot rather then a episodic series, Kuroshitsuji is my only exception, and that's because of the art.
I got bored fairly quickly and I guess people still read it because like Naruto, some just have been following it for so long they might as well finish it.

It's probably going to end soon. There are rumors Gosho isn't going to exceed 900 chapters...so 100 more to go? lol 😕 plus the actual plot is slowly clo after looking at the progress in relationships

The new characters are a little annoying though...but i feel like that's clo real soon as well. I don't really see an end to Bourbon yet though...

Shinichi and his Body: I don't really see a solution to THAT problem. Ai-chan might be BRILLIANT enough to find an antidote...but him returning probably won't be until he finds the leader of the Org. There's going to be some dramatic revelation...i just know it.

well...A lot of the characters are FINALLY getting together with their pair. ESPECIALLY Takagi and Satou. They just had a arc finish up...(so cute)! :D

Chiba and Kaeda(?) are slowly moving. He's kind of realized who she is. She's appearing more often as well.

The insane length and complaints about repetitiveness are why I keep hesitating to start it. Also, a lot of people in this thread are complaining about the same sorts of things I've heard other places.... Does anyone think it's worth starting?
