I like the anime better if only because of the ending. I think Light is treated far better in the anime's end. Plus I just generally prefer seeing things animated. 1wk3f

I read the manga first, and I was confused on a couple of things. But the anime made it easier to understand. And the anime ending was better.

Actually the manga & anime 'ended' for me when L died. I sort of lost interest after that.
But I did jump ahead to the official ending, and have to say that the best ending for me with the 'fake' manga ending that someone created. Now THAT was a fitting end to Light/Kira! 😛

manga is definitely better in my opinion. i feel like it ties in to the beginning a lot better as Ryuk keeps his initial promise to Light of never taking his side if he were to ask for help. The anime ending felt like they were trying to get overly artistic much as they did with L's death which was also better in the manga.

The manga was way better. They did a lot of things different in the anime than the manga. Such as
when Ray Penbar is killed they do it incredibly different in the anime vs. the manga. Plus, the English voice for L sucked. He sounded way too old for the character.

I preferred the manga for the most part. Although I was thoroughly disgusted by Light's actions at the end of both, since it was the antithesis of his personality, the anime seemed a little better.
They are equally good.
Especially the anime was done nicely by Madhouse.

I liked them both.. manga was more profound, but the anime made me tremble with excitement sometimes.. especially when Light was rapidly killing people, his eyes and hair lighting up red and the music.. yeaah.. those moments were definetly worth it))
I think the anime can make better impression using the colors and sound, while manga had more focus in it.. and as for many, after L's death it wasnt the same awesomeness anymore.. 🤢

Anime, because L looks awome and that the final moments of L were very touching when he died.
Also it made me want to kill Kira for laughing after killing L

Both are good, but, I'd have to say the anime was better.
