Mutual Love without Relationship 2h106d

Hellooooo, everybody! Happy New Year! Except... I've got kind of a depressing request for the new year? Lol. 406i3b
Well, it need not be depressing; depends on how you look at it. 🤨
I'm looking for a romance manga where the main couple are mutually in love with each other and know that they're in love with each other, but still aren't 'officially' together, either because one or both of them thinks it's better that way (e.g. "you're too good for me"), or because the circumstances turn out that way (e.g. "you're already engaged to someone else"). Basically, mutual love without a relationship.
They might get together at the very end (or not), but for at least the majority of the manga, they shouldn't be together despite being in love and knowing that they're loved in return.
Please recommend!
I'm not 100% sure this would fit
but it's Heptagon (my favorite josei manga)
Bara no Tameni -it would sorta fit except for the ending..it's not fully scan/translated though
Kare no Niwa ni Saku Hana-the first story would most likely fit what your looking for
Phalene-this too
happy new year to you too~

I hear you say "Why?" Always "Why?" You see things; and you say "Why?" But I dream things that never were; and I say "Why not?"

Saiunkoku Monogatari - You probably already know this one, too...
Shin Angyo Onshi
Shisei (YOKOBABA Ryo)
Tanbishugi - Story #2 "Romantic." Oh, you MUST read this if you haven't, tartufo.

Yay, thanks everyone! May the new year be wonderful for all of you! <3
@Odette, Hotarubi no Mori e is gorgeous and heartbreaking... And so original, too - exactly suited to my request, but in such an interesting way!
AND YES TANBISHUGI IS AMAAAAAAAZING. _____ Gah...
Haven't read Shin Angyo Onshi or Shisei or Tsuki no Waltz, though! Am going to, now... 🙂
Oh, and I'm pretty sure the fifth one-shot Marvelous Heartbreak counts... I literally cried, it was so beautiful. Sigh...
And, and! There are these two lovely time-travel stories about people from different times falling in love, but being unable to do anything about it, since they have to return to their original times... The Sleeping Moon (at least, so far) and If I Can Cross to You...

The first manga that came to my mind isn't even a romance, although romance plays an important part: Detective Conan
Cantarella may count, and so does
Golden Days.
The second chapter of March Story is this, sort of.
I second Shisei (Yokobaba Ryo). The mangaka loves tragedies.

Oops. On second thought, I'm not sure if both sides were aware of each other's feelings in SAO. The series is still worth reading, though.
EDIT: Yume Kurai is wonderful.
