Do I Have to Read FY to Read This? 2k3u3r

I'm thinking about trying Fushigi Yuugi Genbu Kaiden out, but I'm worried if I won't know what or who's who without reading Fushigi Yuugi first. However, I really don't feel interested in reading Fushigi Yuugi at all... So should I try this first or do I have to read Fushigi Yuugi first? eo4h

No bumping your threads... it might have been tolerated on the recruitment forum before... but this doesn't cut it.
I understand you really want a reply to your request, and I sadly can't help you. But bumping your thread the way you did falls under both spam and double posting. (Both against the rules -which I encourage you to read)

Despite the fact that I did read the FY before reading Genbu, you really don't have to read it to understand it. It's with new characters and aren't related much to the original FY characters. Actually if you read FY, you might get a spoiler for the ending of Genbu.
