Hapi Mari isn't one of my favorites...My first impression was that it's one of those smut mangas where the mangaka dragged the plot with melodrama, 'stolen kisses' and sexual tension in every chapter coughLove monster,Desire climaxcough. Atleast the characters in this manga are interesting..it reminds me of Yoshihara Yuki's works but less crazier. After recently picking up the 4th and 6th vol, I'm glad things changed! 1x2z
I'm soooooo happy that they finally consumated their marriage. Well, the sex scene wasn't great [Chiwa's overly shy and submissive..] but I LOVE how the plot changed so much after the chapter. There's no more sexual tension that drives the plotline and it's just pure 'Shoujo-romance' story between them.
I'm glad the standards of this manga has improved. Sure there's drama but it's cute. Hokuto's a great and tolerant husband, Chiwa's antics trying to be a good wife never fail to put a smile on my face. It's so sweet looking at them going all lovey-dovey and fighting each other like normal married couples do. It's cute. And I like it. ^^
What are your thoughts about it?

Oh I can't get enough of it just because they're both adorable (well, I'm reading it for Hokuto -- my guilty pleasure). I do wonder how the mangaka is going to wrap up the story since she brings up some tension here and there, and it hasn't been touched for chapters... But I still read it... it's one where I'll check on updates constantly. 😀

If Hokoto (or however you spel that) does something stupid over the whole relationship thing between Chiwa and her old boos then... I'll kill him myself.

I truly think their relationship is soo pure.. If i'm not wrong in the chapters, (ie. 30 or maybe 31) Chiwa really brought up a sense of a good wife.. When I reflect to the society here in my country, it really truly resembles our daily life..
Plus, i love how Hokuto's character was potrayed.. I don't understand some people that think he's annoying.. Can you please directly pointed out which part of him is annoying?? >:-( Because as far as I , he did tried his very damn best to preserve his marriage with Chiwa even after a lot of stupid things that she did... And yet I still heard bad things was said toward him... Truthfully, i would be glad to have a husband like him.. 😃
Even when he know about his wife with Asahina, he did not fired up.. He backed his wife up and it killed me when people say bad things about him..
This world is a comedy to those that think, a tragedy to those that feel.

The annoying one is her... One step further, two steps backward, what is she thinking ? I don't really like mangas with the basic married couple, but what I hate the most are stupid wives who transform simple life in something so complicated that it gives you headaches !
So what I liked in his manga was the beginning of their love, before they became a true married couple ^^.

LOL, you have about 20 chapters to go to get anywhere near Asahina. Read quickly, not slowly! 😃 I'm at ch 27 and can't stop!

I LOVE this manga!! I think people forget that Chiwa is a silly, naive girl. Don't expect her to grow up and become mature overnight or just because she got married. Getting married, especially to a guy like Hokuto, does nothing to assuage a wife's insecurities. But, I don't think Chiwa is a total pushover. I love how she stands up for herself when she needs to or when she feels like someone's out of line. She is able to be both emotionally vulnerable and emotionally strong, which I think is cool. Also, Hokuto is both a ive husband and a total jerk at times--just like real husbands, haha. The contrasts make the characters more appealing and fuels their growth as a couple, which is really my favorite part of the manga. I hope they continue to grow together despite the obstacles, both internal and external, that come up.
