He is the eldest son of a Jodo Shinshu monk, his house is a Honganji temple. This was later incorporated to oneshot Rokudenashi Blues.
Morita began submitting his work to the magazine at the age of 15 when he was in high school. His debut work "IT'S LATE" was published in Fresh Jump, and received Honorable Mention at the 27th Tezuka Award. He also received Honorable Mention at the 29th Tezuka Award for his oneshot Mysterious Kid.
When he came to Tokyo, he actually wanted to be What’s Michael? fame.
His major works Rokudenashi Blues, Beshari-Gurashi has all adapted to live-action.
Among his former assistants there are Oh! Great once applied to be his assistant.
He is close with WADA Radio participated in oogiri event organized by him.
