Totally agree with naikan. The stories get more timid and unrealistic chapter by chapter, and this manga is no shounen-ai, except the fact that they transformed Shahrazad into a boy (but still with a girl's mind O_+) 2s2a33

I'd be glad to give it a 3, however the story in volume 6 deverses a 5. So after all it's 5.

I always wonder why great manga get stuck with some crappy main characters ??? It's very rare for shounen-ai (yeah forget netcomic, it's shounen-ai for sure, too bad for you shounen fans >.<) to have such magnificent fighting scenes, beautiful characters and touching plot and blah blah but nothing could cover for the most annoying seme (or uke?) ever. Unfortunately, he's not "one of...

Minase's stories often sound intriguing at first, but then they'll slowly go downwards even before reaching those so-called climax. This manga is quite unusual of her because until chap 3 I still feel it so twisted. Let's hope she'll keep this atmosphere until the end.

I rarely read yuri/mecha but this one is quite pleasant. The romance isnt intense, but sweet enough to compliment the story here and there. The plot is simple, nothing breakthrough but overall very welldone. A lighthearted read if you're tired of all the torture out there.

It may make you cry at some points, but to be honest the stories are nowhere near realistic. It's like talking about gay's problems with girl's fantasies (which all yaoi do, but here I mean not in a positive way). Many twists seem forced and it looks like the tragedy is placed there just for the sake of itself.

It's an old formula but carried out so well you can forgive that fact. The art is lovely too. This is the second time I read Yuki Ringo's manga, the first is Tamayura. They both share a somewhat bitersweet and nolstagic theme, but Goodbye Lilac is a significant improvement in of characters. Both of them are fleshed out and seem like real human being with feelings and expression. Back in...

I totally agree with mtmt1311. I'm quite open-minded and dont find fictional incest themes offensive, but I hate the way mangas and novels usually treat them too light-hearted as if they don't matter at all (many even started with a r*pe, WTH??). This manga is very different. The story progresses slowly and focuses more on the brothers' feelings, you know how much they struggled to get out of this...

This series is really great, much better than GTO in my opinion. However, I think comparing them seems unfair because except the "accidental teacher" plot, they share nothing in common.

First chapters were great, both in of art and plot. However as the story progressed I think the author gradually ran out of ideas. From vol 5 or 6, this series started to deviate from a "teacher" plot and...

One point I don't like is that Laurent appeared to be so concerned with the social status that sometimes he was too shy, which reminds me much of the familiar dependent uke type, though that's not the case in this story.
Everything else is great though 😉

It is dark and bittersweet, with heavy implication of a taboo ralationship which seem to be the cornerstone of every good vampire story (no, I don't count Twilight here, given the so-called 'vampire' doesn't even need blood...). And yes, Kazuna is the main character here but it is Chizuna who makes this manga so interesting. In fact, it is so much better when the focus is shifted to Chizuna's...

Just like Brilliant has said, Inariya brings yaoi to a whole new level that, in my opinion, can be compared to modern literature. The story is not only shockingly hot, but also full of angst and the smex illustrates a painful reflection of their current situation. You won't view sex as a mean to attract more audience, but will feel it is an essential part of the story, without which the characters...

Never scanlated? In my country it's hugely popular and has been published and reprinted several times. Anyway, the story is about a 10-year-old girl named Chie who has to run a small diner to herself while her dad - a slacker and her mom separate. Sounds depressing, but Chie took it for granted and continued with her life (possibly because she has grown up in that situation so for her it's...

Kimi no Mukougawa isn't as intense as my favorite yaoi often is, though angst did be my interest.

I guess that's because it's a bit ... er... lack of romance? This's a soft yaoi and the story would almost immediately stop once the pair settled their love, but before that Shou'd simply ignored Takashi or even fought with him, so in short, no hugs or proper kiss until the middle of vol 2, which...

I agree with previous comments, the pacing is just perfect and gives characters time to sort out their feelings. The best thing is that they don't rush to bed and offer as much fan service as possible like the majority of yaoi. The tension is built up gradually, which makes the last chapter so satisfying. There is also a touch of reality when you think from their perspectives and understand why...

This manga will inspire you with its gorgeous artwork. Yeah, I have to say, not many can draw love scene as beautiful as OOMINE Shouko did. The scene in chap 5 is my favourite.

The content? It's very controversial, as some find Naoyuki too stubborn and dependent, but others might think of the great possessive love they give each other (I'm one of those 🙂 ) I must it, sometimes i feel annoyed...

I laughed so much. This is one of the cutest stories I've ever read. This manhua is actually adapted from part of a novel series which follows related characters, that explains the abrupt ending.

Syd & Lid lies in the border between Shoujo & shounenai. Actually, I think it's usually confirmed as shoujo only due to the fact that it's run in shoujo magazines. But there's a kiss that will show there's, apparently, "something" between main characters. And sadly, no more 🙁 However it's worth a try whether you are shounenai or shoujo fan!

I read all comments first, so had pretty low expectation. Johnjimco's review below is (hilariously) spot-on. i guess anyone will get annoyed after following such repititive plot for 8 years. But I was only looking for a couple hours of fun reading now and then, and I jumped back and forth from volume 1 to 7 without any difficulties in understanding the plots (they are practically the same). That...

The story is cliche, but if you like the manga you can put up with the novel I guess.

The problem is the language. It is so unsophisticated, as if had been written by an amateur. I dont know whether this is the translator's or the author's fault.

It's engaging from the very first page, when you see Amir's face. She had that bemused look, with her large eyes wide open and her red lips extending a mischievous smile. She rode a horse on her own over the mountains. Oh my!

And so you can tell whether you will like this story from the first page. And I urge you to do so, before throwing your judgement on that 'child' marriage, because the story...

This may be one of the best manga ever drawn by KAWAI Hideki, if not the top one. It's a little bittersweet, with the historical theme and a twisted relationship (Btw, the little one is the seme. Thats so typical of Hideki)

The series started so mysteriously, filled with monsters amid a survival game, but then the terror slowly went down as the protagonists tracked down the source. As the human appeared more and more frequently, replacing monsters, I got a feeling like Psyren was losing its own genre, especially the horror and mysterious scene which was the most attractive point of this series T__T

I would vote it better if the story hadnt become so complicated nearby the end. As the plot progresses I'm more and more confused about what those people are doing.

Eh... If anyone treated me even half the things Naoya did I would take him to police immediately and sue him for the rest of my life 😀

But for fantasies this is a nice read. I mean, Kaname's art is really meant for shota, her little boys always look so fragile and cute (I dont like her art when it comes to adults though, because for adults her characters look too young). The story pace is okie,...

This may not be a popular title (in comparison with innocent bird and BxB) but so far it's the one I like the most. The plot is funny, simple and straightforward. It totally skips the "introduction" (of how they met, how they confessed their love etc) , which is often clumsy and lengthy, and focuses on their normal life with numerous weird detective missions 🙂 Normally a story would end...

To me it's obvious that Kubota & Tokito are a couple, but I can understand why people keep debating about it. You can never expect clearer hints in Minekura's works, that's already her style. Even Stigma took me 3 times of reading again and again and again to realize the shota hints inside it, let alone this shounen-like drama. That fact may annoy most yaoi fans (including me T_T)
But still.. I'm...
