Early on in this story there were a few moments where I was prepared to it that things might be getting interesting. Then the main character gets all of the powers, and the story just becomes a big mess. If that wasn't enough to make you stop reading this story, by the time the bunny girl shows up the main character has turned into this huge jerk, and you have to endure chapter after chapter of... 4f235o
I was really hesitant to read this at first because most shounen is kind of boring and predictable, to put it bluntly. That's why I was so surprised at how quickly I became invested in the story and the characters, and while Academia does indeed have many of the hallmark tropes of the genre it also has a lot of heart. I also love the way the powers in this series work, they're superpowers so the...
I wrote this off at first but when I actually got down to reading it, I was really surprised how engaging it is. Sure our main characters are a bit OP, but they take a simple concept and give us likable characters who are primarily concerned with helping others, not getting home ASAP. I really am invested so far, though ittedly I have a feeling that things might slow down eventually.
I think this manga had a great start, a really nice sense of momentum and I was super on board to keep reading it. Then the story kind of cools down. Quickly things move to the melodrama level and soon our characters are having annoying little misunderstandings seemingly every chapter. I still think this is a good series but I really hope things start to pick up.
I was really surprised by this story. Even though I've only read up to chapter 9 (current translation as of now) it's had great characters, solid progression and a very heartwarming relationship. It does come across as a bit typical, but I think it's done very well overall. It's also great to see a male who's not a complete idiot, and not a giant pushover. As well as a female lead who is timid...
I really enjoy this manga and the way it approaches the story, especially when it comes to our main character Mob. He's pretty unique-feeling amongst other heroes in the same vein since while he IS incredibly powerful, he sees those powers as nothing all that useful in the grand scheme of things. He thinks that qualities like talking with others, flirting with girls and just being a kind person...
Let me say first that the friendship between the main characters is really the glue that holds the series together. They've all got distinct personalities and are quite enjoyable in their own ways, it's what kept me with the series for so long. However as the series beings to advance I find myself getting more and more annoyed every chapter. One of the things that absolutely kills a series for me...
This is a great manga. I just want to get that out there first. Before I read One Piece for myself I heard some people saying it was a Dragon Ball ripoff and while I can see where they're coming from sorta (Luffy does remind me of younger Goku quite a lot) One Piece is by far its own thing, and a pretty amazing experience.
I won't lie though, the series certainly has problems. For one, (and some...
This is a fine little story, I enjoy the pokemon world a lot and seeing a nice little romance set there is great. I like our two leads and how cute they are. However "cute" and "nice" is pretty much all this doujin is. There's nothing particularly wrong with that, but just be warned that this is purely a slice-of-life story with some cute little moments. There's not really a story or a point to...
So I started this manga on a whim and I have to say I love it. The characters, the art, the slow but steady escalation, everything. I find myself eagerly awaiting each chapter to see what happens next, even if the stakes aren't always super intense. If you find yourself a bit turned off by the MC give him some time, I think he has a nice character arc throughout. I also just want to say how much I...
I'm just sad that this doesn't have more chapters translated because this was a very nice surprise of a comic. A very likable female main character and a not-quite-as-likeable male character means there's some very nice moments as their relationship progresses. Oh and there's actual progression past the confession as well, I do recommend.
So I really like the idea behind the "guy in transported/reincarnated into a new world" subgenre of manga, but I've always felt like they're just kind of lacking when considered on an individual basis. So far I haven't really found one I'd consider perfect or amazing but this is probably what I'd consider the best of what I've read.
First the positives, I really like the art in this overall. It's...
