It feels so fresh and freeing. It's a straight to the point, no nonsense shounen and it doesn't pretend to be anything else.We get a cast of characters in the first few chapters and the rest of the story is just developing them and getting to know them and what makes them tick. The author perfectly paces the character development with the overall plot of the story so there's a good mix of action... o3i1x
You can't ever go wrong with one of these. Start with 'weak' mc, give him traumatizing near death experience, give him second chance at life with potentially over powered skill, bada bing, bada boom, you got yourself a power fantasy story. Cue old enemies and acquaintances underestimating MC, new enemies holding grudges against MC after a humiliating defeat etc etc etc. Only thing quite unique is...
I've been on a reincarnation into fantasy world binge lately and have been gobbling up every romance story I can find with the troupe. So naturally I didn't make it 4 words into the summary before bookmarking it.
Verdict: It's excellent, read it.
The main character is the stand out of this one. After bingeing so many similar stories, it's hard for characters to stand out to me. The main character...
Now that it's completed I can wholly recommend this manga. In these kinds of manga the ending can make or break the story, if it's too upbeat it can destroy the atmosphere and send the wrong message about revenge, if it's too depressing it can send the wrong message about bullying. There's a delicate balance and the author didn't mess up.
I still have a few complaints, some characters I felt were...
Really cute stories but not much horror, I can read it before I go to sleep like a bedtime story just fine. One or two legit creepy monsters but mostly mediocre horror stories with mediocre lessons. I like it though, it's surprisingly unique. Oh no the stories are super cliche and bland but it's the complete wackiness of all this happening to little kids that keeps it interesting.
We're kind of...
But it's actually really compelling? I'm shocked.
The art is beautiful.
There's something about it that just draws you in. The basic plot is misunderstanding based (surprising cause misunderstandings and revenge based plots are the ones I hate the most) but it's very focused. They don't solve one problem then the author arbitrarily inserts another. There's just one misunderstanding that the...
This is misleading. The main characters look beat up in the cover picture and the summary is broody. I was not expecting a cute fluffy lovey-dovey couple. Plus I immediately thought that this mangaka was new. It just shows.
The art is pretty in some s and wonky in others. The eyes could use some work, they go from pretty to derpy very quickly. The story also needs to flow better. One is...
Heroine: I'm back from the dead!
Love Interest: Traps her in a velvet cage, only allowing her to be either 3ft from him or under constant supervision. Refuses to let her meet friends and family, and reacts with terrifying rage whenever she shows interest in someone else.
Heroine: bolts at first chance she gets
Love Interest: 😮 suprised pikachu
It's stupid, the characters are cliched, the plot is...
I just can't do it. I kept reading, hoping that she learns something, but nope, she just keeps repeating the same mistakes over and over. She does stupid stuff in the moment, she ignores instructions, she doesn't think ahead. She's an idiot. It's even in her name.
I've read manga with idiots for main characters before. What makes this one particularly unbearable is the fact that she's being stupid...
I re-read this recently trying to why I dropped it even though I really liked it.....oh. Yeah, like the other reviews said, it starts off good, gets worse and worse, gets bogged down by unnecessary drama, then just...ends. Final verdict, read the good parts, drop at the bad parts. You know you've reached the bad parts when you ask yourself "Where the hell is this going?"
It didn't start off that well to be honest, but it's really picked up speed by the later episodes. The episodes are really small though, they're about 80 pages. Which wouldn't be so bad if it was all text, but it's half manga and that just makes reading everything faster. So I read all 3 episodes in a little over 3 hours, when it takes me about 3-4 hours to read 1 volume of a regular length light...
This is my cup of tea. I love yaoi and I love horror. So what happens when you put it together? Something beautifully disturbing. I love this. I never thought I'd see a yaoi and horror mix where the author doesn't drop the horror and make it improbably romantic. It feels like a roller coaster. It reminds me a bit of Moritat, where I really connect to one of the characters and my mood reflects...
It's a hidden gem. Great horror, interesting concept and characters, and tense moments. It definitely deserves its shounen tag though. You never really feel that the main character is in danger, and there's sudden power ups and one shotable mob characters a plenty. But it's got plenty going for it plotwise that makes up for the cliches.
I guess I'm the odd one out for not caring about 'close your eyes and think of England' rape in a story about politics, war, and treachery. It's what was expected of women in those times, and they were fortunate if their marriage was based on love. I assume the love interest's rushed love is a sacfrice made from adapting novel to comic. The pacing in these adaptations always seem rushed. What is...
A cliche and boring premise turned into a unique, compelling and shockingly cute story. I started this story prepared to like maybe one or two characters while everyone else is an exaggerated bully but, while it does have exaggerated bullying, there are seriously precious characters that are likable, sweet and cute. Did not expect that. Which brings me to a mini rant.
Main girl has finally come...
The MC doesn't grow up. You see the personality she has when she's an 8 year old? Yeah, she keeps that. 16 and she still acts like an 8 old. It's even more painful when you realize that she's mentally 32. The "I'm not saving/seducing anyone, I'm just trying to make friends. Opps another harem member, teehee!" Shtick gets stale after a while. Every time she does that "Huh? Why does everyone say my...
It's cute but kinda boring. Nothing has really happened plotwise. It's just Elise being tested as a doctor, but she's already a genius doctor, so there's no real tension. Every other plot point has been hinted at, but nothing has come about. You get the feeling that it's just part one in a long journey, which is both exciting and depressing. Especially for my wallet. At least the romance is...
But I always thought that if I had to build my character I'd learn as much skills as possible instead of focusing on a couple specific skills. The more skills the more fun you know? It looks like as of chapter 10 he might be gaining that ability and that gets me really excited 😀
I quite like this webtoon. It's informative but not boring, there's action but also plot and the MC is funny. Read it...
I think me and this author aren't very compatible. Talented Maid, Doctor Elise, and this one, Lady needs a break. All of them have several things in common that just make them hard to read:
- Mary sue Mc
- Bland love interests
- Characters acting contrary to their goals
- B.o.r.i.n.g plot with no serious conflict
- Pointless side characters
This one is especially frustrating, Rubia constantly does things...
There are a few things I hate in fiction. Revenge driven characters and plot, characters with inconsistent personalities and motivations, and inconsistent world building. This manga has a subset of inconsistent characterization. Characters who are the "Greatest ------- ever." Except not really. You know the type. Characters writers create that are the best at (insert action) but they don't do...
