the style and artwork is certainly good, as expected from Isutoshi. but the martial arts storyline seems strangely paced in places update- the second arc seems a lot more interesting 14514z
i agree that a little bit more sex like at the start would be good... 😉

great story, character interaction, little touch of mystery & comedy etc.
i wouldnt say that its a romance manga like some would, but a nice mix of genres.
strange that people say that if you'r an action fan, not to bother with this series. i would disagree, there is just enough action in there to keep me interested. this is in my top ten and i am a seinen/action reader mostly.
highly reccomended....

plot is most definately not "lame"
claymore is different from most other shounen, and is pretty good
obviously you need to read it to decide, but it is worth it. i'm not particularly a shounen fan, but i enjoy this series a lot.

a really really REALLY REALLY good manga
well paced, well drawn, and most of all - unique.
there are no manga cliches in here at all.
one of the best seinen series running at the moment IMO

jiro is awesome.
all his works are different, thought provoking, cutting edge manga.
slightly disturbing, but really good. his artwork has been described by some as "crude" but i find it very detailed, just not as clean as some other mangaka..
this is his only real proper series though, and its a big shame its uncomplete (scanlation wise) as i could probably give this a 10 if i knew how it ends......

great pacing, ever growing cast of characters and groups, almost non-stop action, and a little edge of mystery
also i like how they dont go on long preachy speeches during fights, and how its ok for characters to die.

if you like martial arts manga, this is a good read. it has plenty of stories on famous martial artists and seemingly well researched explanations of techniques in various styles, and the philosophical aspects of some of the martial arts teachings come through. . also it's not macho like a lot of other fighting series.
im hoping as it goes on, kenji gets even older. (after volume 2 it skips...

different enough to be interesting, this series has captured me, still only in the first volume, but i hope it stays this good all the way through.
the art is crisp and simple, but conveys everything very well.

dont let the first volume put you off, by the time you get to vol 8 you'l be loving it. the story really develops and its pretty mature too -no romanticism, just great samurai stuff.

like tsuto said, im not usually a fan of the "guy goes back in time" thing.
but this is different from most. the plot is centred on other characters still at the moment, setting the scene. quite a lot is still a mystery. i like.
scanlator is doing a GREAT job too

if you like baki/garouden/riki oh/"insert any fighting manga name here", you will like this.
its pretty good for martial arts manga fans as it seems to be pretty well researched. and extremely well drawn, especially the fight scenes.

great manga.
nice clean artwork and GREAT story, some nice twists.
definately worth following.
IMO this is one of the best ongoing seinens right now, and probably ever.
