Norwegian branch of the Danish publisher Egmont. Back in the 2000s was it the leading publisher of manga in Norway, publishing the likes of Death Note, among others, although they were mostly based on the Swedish or German translations. By the end of the 2000s was it both cheaper and easier to buy English volumes, as well as them having overall better translations and arriving more quickly, so they eventually dropped manga altogether with Death Note as the final manga to get fully translated. 1o1k4v
In 2018 they asked Malin Falch to move back to Norway to publish her webcomic as an actual graphic novel series. She agreed, and her series Dragens Øye debuted, and the authors of the latter and Ragnarok starting calling these story-based comics Nordic Manga as a whole. That being said, Nordic Manga is not a monopoly for Egmont, with some freelance artists self-publishing them and selling them through Kickstarter or Storenvy which is how both Snøkattprinsen and Dragens Øye began.
23rd of September 2022 they attempted to take on Kingdom Hearts.
