First I was all over the place when I've read this manhwa but after I cooled down I realised it has a lot of flaws. Still love it! I couldn't read it again tho, I tried and got bored.

Art is definitely captivating and I love the aesthetic of the fl. I like ml too, cute guy. Vael was my personal fav tho.

There are plotholes and pretty big ones...

So in the end it turns out the bad guy never intended to execute his plan at least that is the conclusion which is like....???

I guess author took a bigger bite than what she could chew.

I enjoyed it reading for once.

Engaging, fun ride

For ppl who have a hard 'no' for animal abuse/death:

kitty had been abused in the past, some of that is shown in flashbacks (not graphic), but kitty is loved during the story, and most importantly, kitty survives and gets happy ending! The blackbirds don't get much screentime, but were briefly treated more as tools for attacking than as living beings. Soon forgotten and not shown again

My overall rating is higher than the average of my breakdown, because all things considered, I highly enjoyed reading this story and it was a positive experience. It all came together nicely in a complete package. 2+2=5 right?

Art is 9.5/10

amazing character designs and clothing
fully developed backgrounds/setting/lighting
there are occasional wonky faces
action scenes are sometimes confusing

Love storyline: 4/10

MC and ml lacked chemistry. Instead of showing emotional progression through body language and small actions/reactions, the reader gets told periodically with the mc/ml thinking "oh do I like them?" and "I can't tell them yet". I don't want to be told what they feel. I want it to be shown. Even when there was a significant display of affection, it was simply told to the reader after the fact by an old man instead of following the emotional state of the ML when he

tenderly took care of Hayan for 2 weeks while she was unconscious The most convincing portrayal of romantic feelings was presented to the reader near the end when ! we get flashbacks that show the ML's face and gaze when he was observing/stalking Hayan before/during their first few interactions. He looked hooked with a love at first sight kinda vibe. How cute

I felt Yohan's feelings for MC way more, which made the fact that he

tricked and killed her parents with seemingly no remorse up to the end confusing. Also, why would he invest 10 years coming up with this huge vampire takeover when he ! knew he wasn't actually going to complete it? I can't connect the dots here.

Characters: 7.5/10

love me some killer priest! Hot damn. Reminding me of Wolfwood from Trigun
I loved all the main baddies. They all got origin stories and the character designs were amazing
despite fresh looks, baddies still came across as more generic "monster of the day" than unique
all the characters were basically caricatures. Extreme in the way Batman characters are. Not much subtlety. But they all had backstories!
MC was so OP I never felt scared for her. The reader gets told ad nauseum how OP the MC is...
I'm a sucker for a hot but cliche "who's side are they really on?" baddy. That character played the role true to the formula.

Setting/world building: 7/10

I loved how one of the baddies was like, "why aren't we being sent to attack her as a group instead of individually?". What a great question! And there was even a reason why it had to be one-on-one! Only one baddy realized that

Yohan knew they would fail and die. Their lives were being thrown away on purpose in order to further awaken the MC powers

it didn't make any sense to me that the main plot involving a decade of detailed and complicated planning for a vampire takeover

was just given up on and wasn't ever going to actually happen... I would have preferred it if Yohan was going to execute the final step but then was swayed by the MC and his feelings to nix it at the last moment

"vampires killed my family/friend/love and now my life is centered around revenge with no meaning outside that context"

the story truly got me hook but it really is this art to make the manhwa's worth.... fenomenal

Edit: completed it, story is very entertaining, while also being very basic, art is incredible. Doesn't make this a masterpiece, but a great manhwa to turn your brain off and enjoy

The art is really great. It felt like reading a comic book (Like DC or Marvel style) and clearly alot of effort was put in to each and every scene. It had felt like a really long movie that needed to be watched. So it was an interesting read.

There is kind of a power up thing but not really because the villains can barely keep up with the female lead. Having a protagonist just beat up the enemies so easily can get boring easily especially if it's not a gag manga. But I felt that this was handled pretty well or at least enough to make a Mary sue type character enjoyable. When I first got into this I wasn't expecting it but then you realize besides plot convenience, would make sense that she is actually that powerful considering that fact that none of her enemies are

pure blood vampires like her.

But why it loses points has nothing to do with the Mary sue part. It was enjoyable and kind of funny and some parts were a little unpredictable. But some things were dragged on for too long but was fixed with comedy. You'll find characters boasting about themselves not too often but still the characters are very flirty excluding the female lead. However the story took itself seriously and character development was handled nicely.
It doesn't have the deepest story now that I look back at it but the way the story was handled is why it gets a high rating. The author and her assistants did a very good job at capturing emotions such as loneliness. The emotional expression of the characters makes the story more believable and helps it feels more real.

Giving it at least 6.7 excluding the way the the art was handled giving the story more depth atmosphere and left me feeling amazed. Which would bump it up to a 7.6.
The reason why I couldn't bring myself to give it an 8.0 because of how the main villain was handled compared to the side villains who seemed to be more interesting.
Reason being:

I found them to be a problem because despite how much they were capable of they were hindered because they were in love the female lead? Yet they had an easy time taking out her parents who also showed him kindness . Like no matter how many times I wrapped my head around it he had multiple chances. It's understandable with the female leads development because she was emotional and felt betrayed but this guy hated the whole world and yet couldn't kill the female lead they knew they had no chance with after what they did. Also he justifies killing humans which was one thing but nothing ever justifies him killing the parents. He was luke warm and wasn't sure about what he wanted in the end. The side villians had clear motivations even if they were simple ones. Dude was aware he was a wreck for ten years but only felt guilty cause he knew he blew his chances with the female lead.

Another thing to add:

The romance wasn't all too strong either. I mean the relationship and friendships felt natural but them liking each other I couldn't pin point were or when either character fell in love. It like as readers we knew they were supposed to fall in love but I can't help but feel this was what we got as a result of the female leads loneliness and the authors forgetfulness.

I can assume how they came to love each other but it felt like through most of the story it was forgotten and then brought up again and relied more on attraction and lust and perspective of the readers. It wasn't that bad.It made sense why the female lead would like the male lead but that's it. Just wasn't strong enough for me as a reader to see how their romantic relationship mattered. It could have been no romance and only a dent of difference would be noticable. That's how much of an impact it had on the story.
Also because :

The female lead simply needed someone who wasn't biased against vampires but it doesn't matter all that much because the male lead also turns out to be a vampire who used to hate vampires while being a vampire ? And assumed all Vampire s were bad until he met her? But didn't come to think that if he also was a good vampire that there couldn't be other good vampires?
Honestly the romance would have been way deeper if he was a human who learned to care for her as a vampire and turned into a vampire later. But since he's not human and a strong willed vampire.... I guess it gives readers less anxiety for his well being?

But despite all this it was enjoyable. I like how there was so much content in 92.5 chapters. Most chapters have a lot of story. So it was a nice feeling to keep scrolling for more.

Manhwa Review - White Blood

Reading status - finished till the end.

Well, I for one loved this series. It is to keep in mind which type of material you are reading to expect the way of content presented.

Japanese Manga - More depth, action but mostly not colored
Korean Manhwa - Colored, more drama, romance, better pornhwa
Chinese Manhua - Overpowered hero, interesting premise, bad story execution, colored.

Considering this is a manhwa, there was lot of drama. The author tried to show the past of almost all characters. Action is okay but art is so good. Hayan is relatable and also Yohan. I especially like Baal and Daniel.

Pros:
Story has better depth usually not seen in Manhwa.
Likeable but badass female protagonist
Few story twists were executed nicely.
Character development is good.
Very nice art.

Cons
Action scenes could have been better.

Pros:

incredible art, although the body proportions sometimes got a bit wonky (eg: girls' arms are toothpick thin when their thighs are huge)
gradual & believable romance

Cons:

expressions and reactions are often over-exaggerated; no subtlety in communicating character emotions to the reader
story gets repetitive with defeating the next level's boss style
Hayan keeps on letting the main villain escape because she talks too much during a fight (a classic plot device used to stretch out the story that is very annoying)
tries to have depth but comes off as superficial

Fave characters: Vael and his pet lion Daniel

Enjoyable but shallow

If you like a story with a badass female lead, this is for you, but you must also like lack of consistency and a rushed plot. Overall I really liked it even if it was fast-paced, in fact sometimes is good that the story isn't dragged out, but it must not at the price of a good plot.

THE GOOD:

Incredible art: I looked at the s for minutes because I was amazed by it, really incredible
Strong protagonist: the FMC is like the strongest in the world, and she's always improving, but sometimes felt like she's was even overpowered, like nobody can compare to her
Representation of trauma: some of the side characters story are really well written and, with the art, you can feel their sadness and despair. I found myself crying a lot, especially at the end I was a sobbing mess (lol)
World: the "vampire" set-up was interesting, a new point of view on a theme that was abused a lot over the years, but nothing really original btw.
-Intense: once you start reading, you cannot stop, you must know what comes next
Romance: the main couple is the highlight of the story, I think. Their connection and understanding of each other is incredibile. They fight and cry together, none is better than the other.

THE BAD:

Predictable and rushed plot: there are not major plot twits, also because you can catch on them really quickly. You from and arc to another without having the time to realize or to feel really attached to some characters that are quickly skipped over
Basic fights: almost all the fight end in one second with the FMC beating everyone in one , there was the potential to have reaaaaly cool battles. What a waste.
Lack of motivation: all the story really sum up to "revenge", but I found it somewhat cruel and unsatisfactory at the end
Plotholes: which is the thing I hate the most personally. Something are skipped over, others are useless, even the characters, nothing is really dealt with in depth, most is superficial

Specifically: they shows us this incredibile organisation formed of strong vampires, but in front of the overpowered FMC they are like lambs, not in a satisfactory way. Also I really didn't like the end. Maybe it was true that Yohan couldn't be forgiven, but I found his death only the result of mere brutality, not a spark of comion for a pitiful person, even in his last moments.

author: turns on microphone HAYAN IS A PUREBLOOD Y'ALL THAT MEANS SHE'S 9999x MORE POWERFUL THAN YOUR SORRY ASS. SHE'S JUST BUILT DIFFERENT. WAIT DID I MENTION THAT SHE'S A PUREBLOOD? AND THAT SHE'S INCREDIBLY POWERFUL? NO? WELL SHE IS, AND-"

I'm not even kidding, I've read more than 70 chapters and during every single fight scene there was always one character commenting on how godlike the MC was.

This is how fight scenes go between Hayan and her enemies:
Hayan fights someone > enemy underestimates her and gets cocky as hell > turns out Hayan is stronger than Thanos > Enemy goes "gasp😲 that's impossible! I didn't know she could do that!?! She is so incredibly powerful no one is a match for her" > She wins. Rinse and repeat.

W H Y? Why must you announce how special and powerful and different she is every like five goddamn chapters, author? I thought it was obvious the moment we saw her blast people to the next dimension just by using her index finger? Or when she could copy her enemy's skill like it was nothing?

I didn't even care one bit when Hayan was in danger because I knew damn well she would always win simply because she was the main character. Look, I do love me a badass female MC, but this manhwa just didn't deliver. Hayan is a really bland MC, the plot is embarrassingly predictable and full of holes, and the author spent so much time explaining to the readers how Hayan was so much better than the other vampires that I literally wanted to throw myself (and the manhwa) out of the window.

I honestly don't even know why I lasted until ch 79.

P.S. Art is really good though, gotta give credit to the artist.

Gets repetative

I originally gave this a much higher rating, because the earlier chapters were a lot more promising.
However, the most engaging character was killed off to move the plot along and what's left are two pretty but bland characters who share the chemistry of my two goldfish. It feels as though every chapter at least one character turns out to be a vampire and its presented as this big plot twist but it is always predictable as hell. There were also a couple of moments during fights that had big "by the power of grayskull and anime" vibes and made me physically cringe. We get it, MC is very powerful there doesn't need to be a side character saying so during every physical altercation involving her. Visuals 10/10 tho.

Lastly, I wanna say this.
Dear author. "Revenge" isn't a character trait.
