Too shounen.

The premise of the "future shots" is interesting, but it's executed in a half-baked shounen fashion. For instance, the rules for them seem utterly arbitrary, and by the end one neither discovers why this ability came to be, nor how this supposedly self-fulfilling prophecy came about. Also, the characters are way too quick to accept either that fate can't be changed, or that it can only be changed in very specific ways. Basically, this manga would've worked much, much better as a seinen manga.

More irritating aspects: The romance borders on obsessive without acknowledging it as such; people fail to confess their feelings for stupid reasons; and the plot frequently progresses by arbitrarily having more and more people discover Matataki's special ability...

Terrific Despite the Main Guy

Yet another timid shouned romance "hero" who can't say anything real to the Main Girl! I'd give anything to know why this irritating type is inescapable in all shounen romances.

However, in this case everything surrounding this standard loser guy is great--and gradually even he grows and becomes a bit confident and even eloquent. Meanwhile, the central gimmick of the piece is new and cleverly done, the story is well told, and the behavior of the main characters is psychologically realistic. True, some of the significant events in the story are totally unlikely ever to happen. But every story of any kind always has SOMETHING wrong with it. Overall, this is very well designed and plotted, and I look forward to future work by Goutou Junpei.

Good thing I read this over those bad comments of this manga.
I love the idea of future camera. The story was interesting. Character and all those background were good materials for a sweet love story. I think it could be a kind of more gentle relationship which grown from a long time childhood friend, if only the author could build the story with a better touch... There some lack in ling and art, but I adapt to it fast. and the ending was a bit... too fast. but after all it's a good manga to read.

I was holding back on writing anything for months but the comments here are ridiculous. What people are saying has no basis. The kid very quickly tries to change the future. People need to understand that characters in a work, are as people, in that they themselves don't know what the right thing to do is and have uncertainty.

The kind of work that reminds you of all those good notions on love. There aren't a whole lot of good long romances nowadays, and I certainly miss that, especially the ones that could be good comedies at the same time.

But there's been a few shorter works to pick up the slack. There's not a whole lot, but certainly a few good ones. This is one of those. It's fairly focused, and it's just a very sweet story. the characters are agreeable and even though they might seem like opposites, they compliment each other.

It may not be the work that explains photography like a shounen sport type story but it certainly gives the character something that elevates him as a person and that's always good.

you can criticize some small things like them falling slow enough for a net to be set up but its minor. compared to papillion, I prefer how they worked things out within the story.

Not really that Good

I thought that the manga was going to be good but I was wrong. Like most of the people said, the main character frustrates you on so many levels. He one of those annoying wimpy protagonist that cries and doesn't know what to do. He doesn't think and is so indecisive. I think I got it right since I finished this manga while ago.

There is no character development whatsoever. The ending is expected and there is nothing special about this manga.

Overall read it if you want to cross out another manga off your list. I'm just glad that I got to put this manga on my completed list so I don't have to read this again.

At first, I was quite hesitant in reading this because I find the artwork unappealing but then as I read through the series the artwork grew on me. As for the story, though it was like your typical romance where the boy will do anything for the girl she loves vice-versa, it still touched me.

There are way too many misunderstandings and hesitant feelings. Matataki believes in his future shots without trying to change them -- but if that was the case, why does he go through everything for?

A Romantic Illusion from the Author

I've written a long story but after I added my rating I didnt add the comment yet and lost it.

My main point is if you start to think about what happens in the story youll slowly get irritaded if not you'll love it. over time the rating I wanted to give this series kept decreasing and stopped at little above ing marks because I find it irable how the story induces emotions.

Original and Amazing

Well, at first, the art bothered me a little but that went away fairly quick. The concept is original and it's concept sort of reminds me of Mirai Nikki but in a romance genre. For me, I find it to be a fantastic romance with an ending that I think most people would enjoy. At times where the protagonist makes bad decisions, I think if he made good decisions, the story would have been bland. The characters are really well defined and there is plenty of character development. In of length, I think this is one series that I enjoyed the most because it emitted emotions without the whole crazy 20 volume plot length. The whole thing wasn't difficult to understand either. I don't recommend it to people who enjoy tons of fanservice and people who prefer an in-depth relationship building. I recommend it for people who enjoy the slice of life + romance genre and people who are willing to kill time for a good story. I pretty much read the entire series in 1 day and I thought it was excellent.

I liked it at first. It did feel somehow refreshing. But goddammit - there's only so much stupidity I can take from protagonists before I start to hate them. They belong together because they're just such vacuous people.
