Description

I love this one the most of the trilogy. I love their complicated relationship very much. Kunie may be such a devil on the outside, but after learning of his sad past, I felt sorry for him and love him regardless. I’m also surprised to see Shou’s weak, submissive side and it’s exciting to see him accepting Kunie at the end. Well done, Akira-san!

This is one of those pretty average stories that for some reason I like more than others. Probably just personal preference, and nothing particularly skilfully done as far as story or art.

BUT, there is one thing which drives me nuts... and that's that Kunie NEVER is naked during a sex scene... it's just awkward... >.>

Kunie is negligible, i hated it from the first chapter ... I feel sorry for the Shou ... I hate this relationship that he has established that it is the master-slave. Already in the first chapter the Kunie estupra the Shou .... Already the end I loved, Kunie was legal when I learned for the first time that who he loved also loved him.

So here's your typical rape + rape = love yaoi manga, my personal pet peeve. But anyway, if you just skip over the usual doki-doki monologues by the uke, you can mostly ignore that aspect of it, which is good because there's some pretty decent smut here. The art isn't exceptional for the genre, but it's a hell of a lot better than most yaoi titles. The guys are actually attractive for once. Also, this one has something of a plot, which amps up the drama a bit. Of course, I don't know how it all resolves, considering I stopped after the first volume. Without even reading it, I can already imagine what the second one constitutes. It's probably something like the uke being reunited with his beloved rapist, then they have more abusive sex, then they fall in wubz for realsies this time. I think the first volume has a pretty good ending without all that Stockholm drama, so if you're like me and hate that contrived crap, you'd better stop there.

There's nothing else really to say about this title. It's basically your average yaoi with better-than-normal art and some good sex scenes. I'll give it a 6 since it entertained me for awhile.

this manga is one of ma fave by kanbe akira. the style of the manga is a bit unique because most of the story focused on shou and happens in shou's head its like a narration with a little bit of conversation. the sex scene is very yummy, not to mention the story line is pretty good as well. this is highly recommended for readers.

HOWEVER there is ONE thing BOTHERS ME:

if you read the prequel, love or pride, shou was introduced as HAIBARA SHOU" and, if you take a look to the ending of blind love manga you will see that SHOU was called MASASHI.... soo... HOW COME 😕 i don't get this part hopefully anyone here can help me with this....

Angst, angst, and more angst. I started thinking, "when will this end?" until it got to the point where the couple's relationship got deeper and the seme's background story started being addressed; then it was more interesting. It also had nice sex scenes. The ending didn't seem rushed at all to me. I had some confusion here and there, most likely due to awkwardness in translation. I generally liked the characters and the story, and I've liked various other stories by this mangka as well.

Making your rapist having a potentially fatal injury so that the victim realize his love for him, or in this case act on it, is cliche, lazy and frankly that's completely ruined this manga for me.

This is one of the biggest challenges in a gay relatonship. Pride as a man versus love, shou already gave up his pride but kunie did not follow and acted really stupid. If he loved shou he should have said so from the start and he would have ad shou from the start.

Somewhat uninspired with a lazy ending

I had really high hopes for this manga and the artwork is just as gorgeous as in Kanbe's other works but the writing let me down. I'm all for bastard seme/good guy uke pairing but this story just seemed uninspired- the writer took a bunch of cliches and added them without really linking them in a way that makes sense or is compelling. The ending is especially annoying- instead of explaining the confusing actions of Kunie, there is a really lazy plot twist that distracts everyone and so we never get to understand what happened and why. Also, there are TOO MANY SEX SCENES. Seriously. I ended up skimming them in an attempt to get back to the plot.

It's funny how time changes your perception of things. The first time I read this was 5 years ago. The review I left here was extremely positive and rated it a 9. Now, older, more experienced, I think differently. I still like this manga, I just see some of the parts that weren't so good about it, so I'll have to lower my rate.
I left my previous review mostly unaltered, which you can read bellow, and I still stand by most of it. The only part I erased about it was where I said I didn't understand the timeline. That's because I hadn't read Love Or Pride, which I have now. So here's my suggestion: don't read this if you haven't read its prequel. The timeline gets confusing.

A few things I'd like to add to my previous review: I wish there was more...everything, I guess. I feel like this manga focus too much on the sex and didn't solve the main couple's issues fully.
Kunie really hurt Shou. In fact, over and over again. And although we get to see Shou's feelings and thoughts, we didn't get to see Kunie's until the very last chapter. I also feel like he didn't apologize properly and waited until the last minute to finally explain himself. And Shou accepted it way too easily.
Also, I don't understand why they couldn't be together right away. What I said previously on my review, that their problem is miscommunication, remains true as to why they take so long to be together. However, what I realize now is that nothing changed from the beginning of the story to the end. Kunie didn't do anything differently, nor Shou. It just suddenly worked out fine, and I think there should have been an event to set things in motion.

A positive thing about it, though, is that Kunie touching Yukiya didn't bother me or ruin thing manga for me like I thought it would. In fact, it adds more angst to the story, which is great. 5g4q2s

I started reading "Blind Love" because someone told me it was better than Totally Captivated. Well, it's not. It's not even similar, so I can't see why people compare them, but it's definitely not better.

Anyways, that doesn't mean it is not good. It's just my type of story, so I'm kinda biased by that, but I love how their pasts are actually so simple, but deep.

I especially like that the conflict is not whether they love each other or not, but that they can't communicate it to the each other. Shou explicitly loves Kunie, but Kunie himself doesn't know that, and think that Shou prefers Taiki. At the same time, Kunie clearly loves Shou too, but is afraid of telling him that and getting Taiki chosen over him.
As for the characters, Shou didn't get my attention much, although he is a little resistant and does have some personality. But Kunie? He's one hell of a seme! I totally love his cruel / pushy / abusive / dominant / jealous / mean / sadistic / sarcastic / player personality. He's perfect. And sexy, on top of that!

What I like especially about this title is the main characters' relationship. It takes so long to be developed, and yet it is still at the same point after two years being together. Then, after one year, Shou still loves Kunie. After three, they go back to how it was before, but even more intense than at the time. I usually don't like when it drags on like that, but I think it was necessary in that case and, even more than that, express the characters' insecurities over the years and how they have to overcome it to be together. It takes Shou some time to accept what he's doing with Kunie and that he loves him. Then, when he finally does, Kunie leaves. When he gets back, it was his time to realize things. We didn't get to see much of how he changed yet, but I'm sure he's taken his time.

But nothing is perfect. There are some issues that bothered me about this manga.
Shou's relationship with Taiki seems a little forced. Not that they aren't close and have that loyalty thing, but I don't see how it will interfere with Shou's relationship with Kunie. He's supposed to be in a boss / employee kind of relationship with Taiki, and a love relationship with Kunie. But the way they all bitch about it, it almost seems as if he loved Taiki too but was undecided.

As for the plot, nothing new, of course, and they could have been just a little more inventive.

Oh, and good art too!
