Man the positive reviews are really making me wonder if I missed something when I read this comic. Because as far as shounen ai goes this was pretty below average, both plot and character wise. It wasn't even that I found it annoying, the execution was just kinda... nonsensical? A lot of plot points that were resolved super hastily, a lot of plot points that weren't resolved at all.
The ending makes you want to scream "THAT'S IT?!"
It has Good Wonderful Ending, just a bit rushed. Makes you questioning their future and the conditions of the protagonist of how and why that happened and things.
The Two Main Characters pretty likable. So is the Doctor.
So yeah, it was Still a Very Good Story with Interesting plot, but still left some questions unanswered.
This had such a good premise... The beginning was pretty good, going at a slow pace and all. But I think the author just didn't know what to do with the plot anymore and just rushed everything so that it would finish quickly. A lot of questions got left unanswered too, like
Why doesn't his heart beat? Why does it only beat when he is with the other guy? What happened to his uncle before that he is so obsessed with his nephew? What really happened to his parents?
The secondary characters had a lot of potential too, like the MC's doctor x his uncle, the male lead's best friends, the blue haired guy from MC's high school, etc. But the author didn't develop these characters at all so it was very disappointing.
I specifically wished they would show more about the doctor and the uncle's relationship too, like how did their relationship start and how would his uncle finally let go of his obsession with finding a cure.
Overall, this was so promising, but I think the author just didn't want to keep it going because they just didn't know what to do with the plot, a bit disappointing tbh :/
Whats not to love?? The story is based on a concept that is very unrealistic, but the writer does a great job with making it seem believable. I mean, how can a person be alive if their heart doesn't beat?!?!?
Heart Silent is a fluffy and heartfelt manga with just a bit of angst and confusion. The confusion is to be expected for a sci-fi-ish romance after all. The pairing isn't exactly normal, but it makes sense with the circumstances. I have a thing for straight x straight pairings, and this pairing is pretty darn cute!!
Not too much to complain about, except maybe wanting more "H" scenes, but that doesn't take away from the story. Pretty good for a digital comic in my opinion!
