Ahhh, this was lovely~! I'm very happy, it was a thoroughly enjoyable read <3
I have to start by praising the artwork, which is, once again, beautiful. I've often encountered people saying they aren't a fan of her style. but I love how she focuses on the expressions, they are SO realistic!
The plot was cute. Nothing too new, but I do enjoy when lack of communication is the main conflict because it makes it that much more angsty, which is a BL requirement for me. It also seems to be a recurring theme in Takanaga-sensei's work, which I appreciate. If there's one thing I'd like to comment on, I thought this was a bit too long - while "Ochiru" was a bit too short. It's not that it felt like it dragged, because it definitely didn't, but I could've done with less "moe" moments and more straight to the point. But I do get why she did it - to make a good, solid foundation for their love. I appreciate how it took a long time for them to first know each other, then become somewhat friends, then finally start a relationship - and even then there were steps. They had phases, from animosity to attraction to young love to deep love.
The characters are also probably my favorite types out of the whole trilogy - Reiichirou is my favorite out of all three ukes (which is surprising because I read this one after the other two, and I had a bad impression of him from before, but he managed to turn it around ^.^)vand Jinnai is definitely my favorite out of all the semes (Jinnai and Kijima are my favorite characters out of all the 6, but he's just more my type). People generally complain about demanding, assertive semes, but he was even a bit too soft for me, but more pushy than the other two - which is good for me! I also enjoyed seeing them changing over the course of the story, especially Reiichirou - he grew so much since "Ochiru"! I liked that, once they had established a relationship, he would engage in the sex - sometimes ukes just lay there, or say "no" all the time, which I really don't get.
Overall, "Midareru" was my favorite, but I also think this was a great story!
Oh, I do wish Tsukasa's and Reiichirou's relationship had been addressed and fixed, even if it was as a side story, but unfortunately we're to assume they still don't get along 🙁
In any case, I definitely recommend all three, it's rare to find good BL, much less a trilogy of series!

Do not beep

pin some one down, lick their body, masturbate and then say "this is how men love". Please just stop. I cannot stand this kind of toxic behaviour.
I actually liked the starting of this but now meh.
This kind of attitude is exactly why women are told they were asking for it.

Well, cliches are cliches, but they could be executed differently too. E.g., today I finished Shizuku Hanabira Ringo no Kaori and Sayonara, Itoshi no My Friend. The latter dealt with almost the same topic - and did it much better, though not perfectly too. I was interested in the heroes, because they were really changing, and not just saying, 'Oh, I was wrong? OK, I won't do that anymore' and falling in love in a blink of an eye. The former also has an antisocial hero, though the manga itself is on another topic. But what's gorgeous about it and what makes it really different from Sayonara and this manga is its ing cast and more likeable heroes. So in the end, especially in comparison, I found this manga sorely lacking in all departments (except art) and boring. I love Takanaga Hinako, so, TBH, I'm disappointed. I expected much more from this one, but wasn't interested in continuing after 1 tome. If I force myself, maybe I will finish and update this review (and rate the manga).

I I ed like 3 months without seeing or reading yaoi and then one random night I recalled my favorite chapter from this manga and after all, I stayed up until 4 am because I had the need to read the complete thing, hahaha!.. and my love for yaoi was reborn (well, it never died xD)...but yeah, Kimi ga koi ni Oboreru is THAT good.

I liked the story , the art of sensei as always wonderful w, but... after read the epilogue of vol 3 and see the manga is complete, i really think sensei left a open ending for this story , I mean i feel like she needed to write a couple or just one more chapter to really give a good close for this story , like someone said before the story it doesn't seem complete. And I already read Kimi ga Koi ni Midareru (Sequel) and about this points sensei it didn't talk about it in that sequel 🙁 serryouslly i keep with the feeling this story need at least one more chapter

I like this title the best out of the series, but it doesn't seem complete. I wanted there to be some reconciliation or confrontation with the brothers about what really went on in the first title, and I wanted to see a more fully developed relationship between Jinnai and Reiichiro, since there seems to still be a lot of mis-communication between them, as well as with the people around them.

But I'm holding out because the series isn't complete and the mangaka will hopefully go back and fill in the holes. Maybe after "Kimi ga Koi ni Midareru" the mangaka will expand on the 3 stories for a much more satisfying end.

Solid manga series!

While I don't think a 10 year age gap is anything special (unless one party is too young), it's an understandable worry of Jinnai that his boss is that much younger!
All in all, I have to say that this is a great manga and definitely worth reading.
Something that really surprised me here was, that after getting to know Reiichirou in the prequel, he turned out to be a totally different personality here than expected!
I loved him in the prequel, and I was a bit confused reading Oboreru at first. However, he grew on me and while I understand he might come across too boring for some readers, that didn't bother me.
He's extremely anti-social. He's not used to dealing with people and coming from a rich and famous home, he always just got everything he needed. I like that he's both a beauty and very innocent and inexperienced. He matches Jinnai very well - who is a character that is just lovable right from the start! He's impulsive and straight forward and loud and easily becomes rude, but then again he's a very sweet and caring guy.
The prequel had a lot more emotion... ion... mostly because Jinnai is the only character showing feelings because Reiichiro is just horrible showing how he feels.

The story is not bad, even when it's not anything completely new or complex.
Kijima adds some nice love rival/triangle effect while staying pretty reasonable. He's a fun character and his role got a lot better knowing that he is serious, and not just playing around.
I'm excited he got his own sequel!

Well I really enjoyed this - even if not as much as the prequel - and I'd definitely recommend it. If you like innocent, clueless ukes and semes who are demanding and kind of lose their cool when around the uke, you might like this one.

If there is something ridiculous about this manga, it will be the fact that there is a 10-year age gap between Rei and Jinnai. Come on, they look like friends around the same age. May be Jinnai just simply has a skin care secret chuckle

That aside, there is nothing else absolutely unrealistic about the relationship depicted in this manga in my opinion. Firstly, regarding why there are so many ukes who need to be taken care of in the yaoi world, the answer is quite simple. Most yaoi mangas are written by female mangaka and for target at female readers. With that being considered, many of the stereotypical characteristic of women are carried over to the ukes. I am not saying that all female are weak and undependable, but there are things that are expected more from the males. There are women who preferred to be treated exactly the same as their male counterparts, just as there are some strong image of ukes in yaoi. But over all, that explains why it is quite rare to find seme-like uke in yaoi and more in bara, which actually aims at male readers. Of course I personally am not a fan of cutesy girly ukes because they are guys after all, but Rei was not quite portrayed so here. In the end, he furthermore made a brave decision to break the family shelf, to stand for his belief; so it means that he has learnt and matured more though out the story and I don't see how Rei could be called an incapable person after all of that.

Secondly, regarding the complaints that Rei was so clueless, naive and that Jinnai was kind of forcing Rei into the relationship, I agree but only to some extends. Rei was indeed naive and clueless, but only in love. He was not a clueless as in thinking that life is pink and everyone will live happily ever after. In fact, due to his family situation, it is reasonable why he has not been able to go around dating and to have experience in sexual attraction. I have friends who have little or no clue about this matter too just because families are too strict and most of what they do are studying, working, or hanging out with friends while having a hard time to start a relationship. And as you can see from the manga, Rei struggled to become more socialize because he has not been exposed to the outside world a lot. It was not his fault to begin with while he indeed made effort to learn and improve. Therefore, just simply characterizing himas "naive" and "clueless" is a little unfair. Also, Jinnai did force Rei to consider their relationship. But it was Rei's consent that started their relationship as Rei claimed that he was very well aware of what they were doing and chose to let Jinnai do it. So Jinnai was not forcing Rei to do anything actually.

Last but not least, this yaoi is dramatic as it is categorized. There were issues keep coming, there were jealousy, but they were brought up in believable situations. Jinnai did not randomly become jealous because Rei talked to a friend and vice versa. Kimura did make some moves to threaten their relationship! Unless you are saying that you absolutely have no problem with your lover being around with your love rival, I don't see why anxiety is unacceptable here, and it should have nothing to do with trust or not. Also, insecurity over social gap is realistic problem. It might not happen to everyone, but it certainly happen to and trouble someone in real life. After all, this is a dramatic manga, so please do not look forward to finding a completely sweet and peaceful relationship but drama!

Disclaimer: I am not worshipping either this mangaka or this manga. I cannot say that this is the best manga of Hinako Takanaga sensei or by any mangaka either. This manga has to have some flaws but I would like to point out that I don't neccesarily agree with some pointed out by other reviewers. Also, this is my opinion, and I by no mean want to force it on anyone because I believe each of us has our own standards and philosophies.

Not terribly interesting or original, but not bad. I adore older ukes and younger semes in general, and this had that, but it wasn't as fun as I'd hoped.

Again, not bad at all, just kind of general-feeling.

I really did like the plot and I also liked the characters involved, even though I wouldn't have thought that Reiichirou would turn out to be such a likeable character (regarding the prequel). And of course TAKANAGA Hinako's art was stunning.
