Description

Shounen in disguise

Very juvenile themes for a Seinen title... I would only recommend it to kids who enjoy yakuza themes in a shounen setting with a little more zest (mild scenes of sex and rape). Avoid this like a plague if you want a gritty mafia thrill.

And I have to rant, our MC's personal yakuza clan is the most pathetic group I've seen been represented as a crime organization in manga. You never see any guards/helpers besides 2 dopey housemaids. They never explain how the MC's father ruins their business. Every time they go out to investigate anything, they always go alone.

The Voynich Hotel is also a great pickup.

This is Yakuza. What are you expecting? There's sex, drugs, violence, betrayal, really bad personalities and such. Though It feels like it sometimes leans too heavily on the ecchi aspect, it never shows anything other than boobs. It merely suggests the act so that the focus of the moment doesnt turn completely into an art scene.

I dont really love this genre since I'm a naive nice guy (I can relate to the MC), but I believe it does resemble Yakuza's theme well. The pride, the greed, the manipulation, the loyalty, the violence, the revenge, the tatoos etc.

Also, it did not feel like a rushed ending at all. Rather, It felt like a movie if compared to other mangas that drag as much as possible until they HAVE to end it. Gekkoh's ending made sense, was unexpected, creative, and built up very well through out the chapters.

----- That said.. some objetive pointers..

Art is inconsistent. some parts are well drawn, some parts are horrible. It does get better as the manga progresses.

Story telling is awkward. Some pages/boxes didnt connect all that well. Sometimes I was like "what? Did I miss something? Did the scanlator mistranslate this?".

As far as manga tecnique goes, it feels like the work of an inexperienced mangaka.

But the story isn't bad, it's totally worth the read.

Didnt feel that rushed to me

Idk why the previous review thinks it was too rushed. If he really just wanted to end it quick there would have been a much easier way(and one dead old man).... in fact this way is the only way that makes sense as if the truth was anything different the father would have sought out the offender on his own most likely. The only part left out of the ending was the bloody death of a certain extremely annoying competition...

Originally I was going to rate this as a 4 or 5 but since the ending was decent ill give it a 7.... decent ending was also VERY cliche btw. Anyway the reason it almost got a low rating was about halfway through I was praying he would use the tramp and throw her away.... chick spends half the manga panting and moaning about the assaults she gets, and never even gives any real resistance. Not to mention turning bright red any time one of her wouldbe rapists is within 5 feet of her. I mean WTF chick needs to get bitch slapped to knock some sense into her, not to mention that while all this was happening she still has the nerve to get angry at the protag for his weak willed actions with women. Normally the guy would deserve it, but the fact is that he puts up more of a fight than the loose chick does. Granted they both are unfaithful sacks of crap, but at least the dude only expresses concern and feels some guilt for it. And yes yes I know it was "rape" but it is hardly rape when the dude barely has to try at all and you just accept it even though you quite obviously have the strength to get away any time you chose. Overall the female lead is a slut, and the male lead is a indecisive prick...... why the hell can nobody in this type of manga EVER have a decent personality, reading this was so fricken pathetic I was kinda hoping they would both get bludgeoned to death

Rush ending

It really makes me mad when mangas have crappy endings which this manga has. It seems that the author had to wrap up everything that happen in the last 5 chapters because it was going to get axed. I give it a 6/10 because the ending

The first thing that messed this manga up is that you find out that the main characters are not even related. Secondly the whole plot was about the girl(forgot name) trying to find the man that killed her parents but in the end it was her F***king father. I bet that the author never wanted the father to be the killer but with the manga getting axed, he had to. If you like rush and crappy ending mangas, read this.

Before picking up this manga, I've read some reviews here...most of them confused me, and almost made me change my mind...I'm glad I didn't and decided to read this manga. Now that I've read it all, I can say that it's definetly worth your time.
Though art may seem sketchy or lack some depth, don't drop this manga only because of that. You will eventually get used to it and will enjoy this manga, as I did.

Sex is its main appeal

Weak story, poor pacing, weak one-dimensional characters with dry interactions and a cheap rushed ending. The only enticing element of this series would be it it's gratuitous sex scenes, but given the lack of variety in design and layout, they all look almost identical.
Your time is better spent on something else.

The story lacked depth, meaning and planning. The actions and reactions of almost all characters in most of the situations were not unrealistic, it was ridiculous. Trying to read the story made me mad. I could not stand most of the characters, they were all vapid. Maybe this is your type of manga, with its excessive nudity and horrible action scenes. I would recommend you stay away even if you're bored, unless you only read a manga for the "ecchi" scenes, then I guess you could ogle at the boring art?

it´s like we´re reading a different manga. I´ve read almost all of translated thus far and the fanservice isn´t as bad or graphic. There´s no massive raping or anything like that. Everyone gets saved.

Aside from that, its a manga about a reluctant son of a yakuza and the arrrival of his half sister. Except the manga seems to be screaming that shes just adopted, or just a charge-ward-beneficiary of the son´s father.

In any case, the manga has a cool style and a lot of charge from the sister´s temptation while she cool bloodedly tries to exact yakuza justice and find some guy that killed her mother. the girl seems to understand that yakuza better than the son even though she´s been living in some boarding school, and she seems prideful of the yakuza.

for example: boob licking = hand shaking in other manga, pussy licking = boob fondling in other manga, and Kissing = un wanted kissing in other manga, if u go by that maybe u can over look all that goes on with the main girl, and I am pretty sure Kyotaro has about the same thing in his mind when he is trying to sort out his revenge ridden sisters problems.
SO yeah story for this is good, but considering HIMURO Serika is a Adult, Hentai manga drawers/writer, that is to be expected when he actually tries to make a long story out of his work. though i think he may not have gotten the point that main female lead have to have some form or purity to be a little special. THen again this is just what i think, tried my best to think from the authors mind and tried my best to help out new readers of this manga, that is follow my examples if u think i may not like a slutty main female character.

Im gonna give it a 5 for now but it might rise later when rest of the chapters are released, and i depending on the ending,
