It's hard to get a wholesome without excessive drama bullshit.
both MC and FMC is faithful to each other.

it’s so hard to find such consistently good, clean manga art that it breaks my heart to confess that it’s not as good as the art. would’ve liked to see more buildup. though i appreciate the fast pace (especially given how criminally slow the releases can be), i do think this would work better as a slow burn. would help you feel that angst more pointedly. i know this is a manga but everything as such felt so out of tune for me.

bc it’s so quick i get confused w the characterization. ml changed sm like complete 180.

how did he go from arguing with her daily and calling her names to confessing his love so honestly and openly… we really don’t see the buildup well & i do think this was meant to be much more prolonged than it was. like we find out later that he’s been keenly aware that he’s loved her this whole time and he’s got a bit of a shy, blushy, clumsy personality so how did he ever insult her like he did in the established three years in rivalship? doesn’t make any sense for his motivations that said i did end up really liking the ml anyway.

i don’t mind the fl (hate it when ppl shit on female protagonists!) but to be honest i would get really frustrated by her ivity. at least she’s growing though (but again there truly is not much explanation for why that is). just strings of undeserved movements. also would’ve liked to have more emphasis on their past together maybe (?) like knowing someone for so long in your life is such a huge thing i feel like it’s kind of swept under the rug lol.

also the stuff w the 2nd ml was so extremely unnecessary like his character felt so extraneous.

he exists only to stir up jealousy like he’s basically the kickstarter to the ml pursuing the fl more sincerely. but that’s such a cop out… and i hate that he still interferes with their relationship after they are dating like wtf bro and why were you entertaining him at all fl 😭 like let’s bring back his character focus to his unrequited love for his sil maybe. anyway reasonably i feel like the ml would’ve been surer of himself and more open before some guy pushed him. ESP IN THREE YEARS. like i really hate that misogynistic ownership trope the author’s peddling.

so now i read bc i love rivals to lovers & second chance & this is very much fluffy trope stew (well toward the later half)! the shorts were so cute. the art cannot be understated as incredibly and the translations are so well done. but yes ittedly it’s a bit too empty of anything else beyond that. the dragged out bits of miscommunication drama were not to my taste; felt very high school for a josei: 7/10
