Description

Left devastated after the tragic death of his parents and sister, Yuuichi Tachibana adopts his seven-year-old nephew, Ayumu. Seeking a new beginning, he chooses to move them to a new house with a view of the ocean, hoping for a peaceful setting where they can concentrate on their healing. 3j623i

There they meet Ryou Kurebayashi, who owns a neighborhood deli, and become regular customers. As Ryou and Yuuichi grow closer, learning about each other's unfortunately similarly tragic pasts, they begin to one another ― and Ayumu ― day by day, building a little family of their own by the sea.

It's so beautiful, heart warming, sad and sensitive.
There is so much detail author add there in just 8 chapter, look how beautiful she add that single mother in story without pushing it, just beautiful.
Loved it so much, I wish for more tbh.

A real tear-jerker with characters that were believable through their flaws. I like how even though much of the story concerns the developing relationship between Yuuichi and Ryou, Ayumu is never left by the wayside but given an essential role. There's a lot of content for just a single volume, and although it was a pretty quick read, it left me with a deep sense of satisfaction. Plus the art is stunning!

It's so Satisfying...
I already expected something Good by this mangaka, but i didn't expect something sooooooooo Good and Satisfying for manga with just One Volume. But i'm not gonna lie that i wish for more.
I Love how Ryou while has those slightly twisted personality/mind and yet reasonable because his painful past, but also he keep helping Yuuichi and Ayumu. The development between those three is so Deep and Full of Meaning and it's Amazing!?! Ryou's feelings of wanting Yuuichi but doesn't want to make Ayumu cry by taking him away is just precious!!! And the talking on the phone moments at the sea is just so Heartbreaking and Importantly Precious at the same time!!!
My God, this Manga is Beautifully Brilliant!!! Personally i think this is the best Manga by MINAZUKI Yuu. That's saying a lot because all manga I had read so far by the author is all So Good So Far!!!

Positivity Trumps Depth

Honestly, the world building is quite shallow in this case as it’s simply too convenient. I have major issues with the characterizations, their emotional and physical dependence on each other, and the use of melodrama as means eliciting an intense emotional response.
However, such positive portrayal, and acceptance, of gay parents is rare to say the least. As such I would take such a positive manga over the gutter-smut-trash any time. Besides, I do find this manga to be excellent in various other categories as well. For example, a major one is how there is a focus on the actually talking things through instead of simply assuming and running away. The centering of the child, his wants and wishes, is also quite endearing. And, the art work is pretty detailed as well.

This one really started to impress me by the second chapter. The drawings are nice, and towards the middle of the story they get kind of gorgeous. The setting of the beach town they live in is a pretty backdrop and adds a nice ocean-side feeling.

As for the story itself, the pacing of the romance felt right to me, which I find unusual in yaoi. The seme kept gently pushing for a faster pace, but the uke had to figure out how he felt slowly. Surprisingly, he wasn't an annoyingly cliche tsundere character, which is what I expected after his initial reactions to the seme's advances, but instead was just hesitant and slowly digesting each new experience with every interaction. Both characters had time to observe each other in various situations, and time to get to know each others' true character and fall in love.

There were also many interesting undercurrents of the MCs pasts affecting their emotional needs, and making their romantic interest in each other deeper and more complex because they each satisfied much more than romantic love/sexual desire for each other.

Especially for the seme, the uke represented and fulfilled a deep-seated need to be loved and appreciated as a human being, that he had never been able to fully experience before from either family or sexual partners. Romance that has multiple layers of emotional complexity like this is my favorite kind.

This was a very sweet, and in some ways simple, version of a multi-layered romantic relationship, and there isn't a ton of conflict. The angst was minimal and easily soothed by a bit of clear communication and loving embraces. This was not one of those stressful, dramatic, angst-ridden, psychologically complex thrillers...far from it. Instead this is a quiet and slow progressing story that allows you to get to know the characters somewhat, especially their emotional landscapes, their worries and fears, their needs, their past hurts, and their desires.

One thing I will note is that this yaoi has some of the least explicit sex scenes I think I've seen so far in the genre. However, there is enough there to let you know basically what happened, and what the tone of it was. And there is the satisfaction of knowing it did indeed happen and that their love is experienced on a sexual and physical level as well as emotional. Still, I for one prefer a less classy take, with more sex. ? Seriously though, I prefer to be able to witness the full progression of the romantic relationship, and the sexual aspect is an important part of that for me, not just because it is titillating and enjoyable but also because it provides huge insight into the dynamics and atmosphere of the relationship.

As usual for most mangas, there is a bit of cheesy humor thrown in, which never does much for me, and the extras at the end clashed, in my opinion, with the resolution between characters that had happened during the main story, for the sake of ending with humor, as most of the publishers (I'm guessing) seem to think is a good idea. Besides that aspect, I felt the atmosphere of this manga was unerringly lovely in an introspective and slightly melancholy way, filled with longing, loneliness, and, in the end, fulfilled and requited love.

I wouldn't say that the story is brilliant or completely blew me away, and there are a few corny tidbits in the narrative which I wish the mangaka had toned down a bit, but despite all else it was pretty sweet and I enjoyed what I read. The characters are decently developed and you'll come to care more for them by the end of the manga, which is always a good sign for me. The art is good too, as per usual from the mangaka.
