I still don't why I feel compelled to read it

I read the first series until the ending even tho I disliked the LI a lot and it was just back-to-back suffering for the MC and her friends. Then I read the manwha series which I felt like dragged on forever with love triangle hell until I dropped that too.

I feel like it's rough like the manga-ka is super skilled at drawing and creating memorable casts along with relatable MC but they end up stuck in less than unique plot lines.

However, I do find it ironic that Jellyfish Princess was about a girl who is an otaku who doesn't want to date or get married which drew me to her first manga vs all the later manga feature women who are avg but do really, really want to get married to somewhat disappointing men.

I know there's a like entire genre for romcom with the same themes in TV shows but deep down I feel like the main problem goes beyond the martial status of the women involved.

For example, I would say if would what does it mean to be a modern woman in 2025 if you're not focused on a career or family? Will you have regrets if you don't follow in your parents' footsteps? How do you cope with the reality that most men are probably already married or not that great catches?

Edit: I was reading vol 2 and dropped it b/c the manga-ka has an obsession with dumb love triangles in every one of her series. The main reason is that each LI is not that great like I'm not being super picky it's just so the random man seems rich and the other LI is somewhat avg? I don't understand man.

Finally, I feel like all the MC really needs to do is go use the extra funds from her parents meant for dating and just get therapy for her depression. Most people don't love their jobs, travel extensively, or like have major life goals, and it's just acceptable unless we're talking like millionaires.
