ch1, bottom is drunk. the top comments on it but says it’s too late to stop

ch5 top asks if he can move (like, having penetrated the bottom), bottom shakes his head no, top says sorry and he can’t control himself and moves anyways

however, bottom indicates he consented afterwards in both cases. so dubious.

What a overrated ranking and comments.
This whole story is smut , well I read smut far better than this one but whatever, with a little story and characters development. Imagine two volume of repeating things u read in first two chapters 😂
In the whole story we have a one sided love by seme and an annoying snobbish full of himself uke who seems only want sex and that's it.
You never felt love between them , only some hot sex and one of them trying so hard on his own.
So i seriously amazed by this comment section 😂

The plot isn't very exciting but the smut scenes are super hot!!! It's not PWP, there's some development, but story-wise it's probably a 6.5 or 7.

An Affectionate Seme is The Best

Hashimoto Aoi has established herself as a credible mangaka in my esteem. A few of her works are there to which I am not particularly enamored, but Between the Sheets is most definitely not one of those. The characters are interesting and compliment the couple quite well, which just makes me a bit sad not knowing more of their background story and interactions with each other. Honestly, I fell in love with both the side characters, even as limited as their appearance is, because of the kind of they provide and the role they perform within the story. Somewhat interestingly, I found the chemistry between the side-characters and couple to be more entertaining than the actual relationship between the couple themselves. This, however, is not to speak badly of IchiTaka, but merely to note my own mood when reading this because I absolutely do love IchiTaka.
Though, I will not go as far as to say that they have crazy chemistry between them (for example like the one in Shinobeba Koi), however it is absolutely endearing to see their interactions with one another and how they actually talk things through with each other and to the best of their abilities try to articulate their needs, and desires, as honestly as they can instead of expecting the other person to read their mind and being total douches.
Furthermore, there is a distinct story telling style, akin to a cliff-hanger, which Hashimoto at times employs that quite deliberately breaks from the more conventional style of manga story telling where one action/event sequence is completely followed through. However, I believe there is a need to further develop this particular style as when I initially experienced it I thought that I had skipped a whole chapter, or various pages at the least. I know that Hashimoto Aoi can do this, because in the sequel “Blue Moon, Blue - Between the Sheets –” this style is developed even more.
Lastly, the smut was great (and consensual!!!!!!!). Please do excuse me for not being more articulate about this and using “great” as a stand-in for all of my thoughts and feelings. This review is already too lengthy. Though, there is one thing about the sex that I will say: it’s loving and gentle. No power play, no humiliation, no pain and violence. There is a nod towards the usual trope of “my mind going blank” and the “slutty uke”, but these are minor tropes which do not characterize their relationship at all. In fact, in the sequel Hashimoto goes the extra mile to subvert these tropes.

Good balance of art, smut and story. It is clear that the author did some research, even if superficial, into bartending and managed to make that the crux of the story that the romance pivots around. The characterisation was better than average too. I'd recommend it.

Nice, entertaining story with good pace and not flat characters. I had fun. There's a little bit of everything, chasing after love interest, work related troubles, second thoughts, status difference, some intruders (I mean people trying to disturb their relationship). The amount of "troubles" they have to deal with is just right, so the readers won't get tired or bored. Sex is hot and kinky. I it that this story isn't profound but it doesn't have to be profound to be worth to read. The plot is good and the art is so pretty. Above all of these there's nothing annoying in this story (yep, it means a lot).

If you're not looking for some "unusual" yaoi with Stockholm syndrome or fetishes like feet or yakuza (you know what I mean) it's a good choice.

I looooove the art style o so hooot~ and the seme is such a ionate lover~ tho Takafumi was kinda tsundere, Ichise handled him well, often knowing the true meaning behind his partners words~ this couple was lovable~ if there would have been less chapters where the couple was apart then i might have put a 10 rating~ and the "we are sex friends" thing was kinda annoying lol...anyway i recommend it for the smut and art mostly lol ?

Whew I didn't know this mangaka was capable of draw such smut!, but given the nature of the stories and characters I suppose it shouldn't be very surprising after all haha. I actually like what I read for the most part; sure it ain't exactly profound or innovating or anything, but it does provide some entertainment and doesn't have any major glaring issue that can potentially turn the audience off, which I already consider a small victory for a BL manga.

Also, I think I should make a note here for future readers: if you're reading it through online manga aggregators make sure to find Exiled Rebels Scans' new version instead of reading BL-Gyaru's scanlation 4 years prior, because the latter has a lot of translation mistakes that greatly alter the original manga's dialogues and true meaning which will affect your understanding of the story. Just a heads up.
