I’m surprised this has no reviews even though it only has positive ratings, so I thought I’d add one.
This manga was a pleasant surprise. From the cover image that was here originally (volume 6 cover) it looked like it was going to be about a dumb big breasted girl who just exists for fanservice. Actually, that character turns out to be a side character and she usually is drawn better than that. So I changed the cover image to 4, which is more how the series usually looks.
It’s basically a light comedy and adventure. The comedy is good, though more of a chuckle most times really than laugh out loud. I liked Norman, as an obsessive researcher of magical creatures from the human world. The magical creatures in the manga are pretty neat, they’re often sort of a cross between animals from myths and legends and sort of crossed with real world wild animals. The result is creative and interesting. If you like either mythical creatures or real world animals, then honestly I think you will enjoy this manga, it’s all about the animals they encounter.
The other half of what the series is about is sort of an adventure/exploration of a RPG like setting. They eat exotic food and travel and see sites for tourists. It’s kind of fun in a low key way, but I can easily imagine that it’s not for everyone. It’s mostly slice of life and there isn’t really any epic action here.
My only complaint so far, is that I thought Patty (the no magic demon girl) and Norman (demon researcher) would have more of a father daughter relationship. But while he does protect her and look out for her, so far he says he does it because he’s studying her rare demon type. But still, they haven’t been together long, so hopefully that’ll change as the series advances.
