If you are a teen this will probably be good enough to the time, might even be an enjoyable read and feel relatable if you have or had a crush on a childhood friend.

But if you are a minute over 19 and/or used to more mature stories this probably will be just... fine.

If I had to give a more objective opinion, even Nayu's best friend is a better character than Oumi, she's very proactive and has a clear and believable personality while he's kinda just there.

The storyline with Oumi's initial love interest could have been omitted entirely. With this short number of chapters, the author didn't have to show all that to make us understand that he liked another girl. Omitting that would give more room to developing his feelings for Nayu.

Edit: I just read the extra and now I'm even more convinced

Nayu was better off with the second lead, he's just more interesting and actually seems to like her while the male lead is still confused if he likes her or just sees her as a mother figure.

I went into this wanting the 2 leads who are childhood friends to get together, but I gotta say that the male leads arc with his other girlfriend left a bad taste in my mouth. She basically cheats on him and then agrees to marry this teacher at their school. He then tells her to "be happy". I would have told that bitch to fuck off.

If you've read a shoujo where the main character pines for his/her childhood friend (who just happens to like another person!) and said childhood friend doesn't have any romantic feelings for the main character until a rival shows up, then you have basically read this manga already. But even with the typical plotline, this one did stick into my head because of

how the "rival" (Takeda-kun) treated the main character - it was very sweet! I hate it when I like the rival (and clearly the loser in the supposed love triangle) but I could't help it this time! :) I would have rated it higher if the mangaka hadn't tied the end so quickly.

The art and the characters are adorable. But the actual content is predictable and done a million times before. There are a few concepts that helped give it a little more direction and theme but in all it's not too special.
