Here is my review for the main story Koi ga Ochitara and its sequel Koi ga Michitara.
I thought Ueda Aki did her best work with Shitasaki ni Yoake no Aji but she truly outperformed herself with this incredible and heartwarming BL. I sincerely love all her works but these two titles are her only two volumes manga and I really think she does her best with two volumes manga as she can go all out and show her prowess and skills.
Anyway, vol 1 almost managed to make me cry but then came vol 2 and I couldn't hold back my tears anymore. I rarely cry tho, but this story was so heartwarming, touching, sincere and beautiful. I read mostly romance but it's rare for me to think "I want this type of love", "I want to be loved the same as this character", "I want to be in a relationship" or "I want the same love partner". I can count on one hand the BL that made me feel like that and this manga is without a doubt one of them.
The love and ion between Hishimoto and Yuuki was so intense and breathtaking, you could feel it so well in their sex scenes, daily life or even in their expressions and behaviour.
I love the approach Ueda Aki took with this story, it was mature (as usual for her manga), down to earth and realistic. No cliché, BL trope or childish talk/behaviour. Even tho she introduced the female assistant
she didn't use her as the typical female character in BL who goes in the way of the couple. I was expecting Yuuki to pop up right at the moment she confessed to Hashimoto and then leave because of a useless misunderstanding that could have been cleared out easily. But she didn't do that. The female assistant confessed then excused herself before leaving because Hashimoto told her right away that he already had a lover
Same with the man in the coffee shop
I thought for sure he was a love rival, your usual side male character whose only purpose is to stir up trouble and jealousy. (Btw it would be cool to have a spin off of him and his partner) Again Ueda Aki subverted all the BL clichés.
As a way to show that her story was indeed a mature BL with adult characters and themes, she didn't use any misunderstandings or lack of basic communication to create a conflict, instead the conflict came from a difference of point of view and also an external factor, Hashimoto's busy job.
Also, few ... Ueda Aki sure knows how to draw the most sensual, sexy and hot sex scenes ever. It was the same with Shitasaki ni Yoake no Aji too.
