SECOND AND FINAL WARNING -- ENDING SPOILERS AHEAD 6e195r
I just finished this last night. I thoroughly enjoyed the series and it's definitely one of the better ones but anyone else feel they pulled a completely "shoujo series ending"? I would have loved the time jump if they didn't make the relationship of Asaba and Arima's daughter out to be so serious but it just ruined it for me. There's a huge age difference and if you've been a father figure your whole life, why are you getting confused about your relationship? Is this just the man in me talking since I'd kill even my best friend if he laid a hand on my (hypothetical) daughter? Fate be damned.

be warned...spoilers ahead
I totally agree! I mean, I love the whole heart-felt romance between Asaba and Arima's daughter, (the shoujo-ness of it all), but really... if you think about it... Asaba's probably even changed the kid's diaper when she was a tot. I was hoping that there would be more father/son bonding between Arima and his biological father.
Overall, I really enjoyed the series, it was probably the best one I've read and I wish it didn't have to end.

Personally, I would rather see more bonding between Arima and his adopted father and mother than his biological father.

Well, I figure that the mangaka have already spent a decent time on the dynamics of the relationship between Arima and his parents so I thought it'll be nice to also focus on Arima and bio. dad's relationship.
I wonder if Kazuma and Arima were lovers in their past life... :3

Asaba/Sakura was quite the shocker, yeah, but... this is Yukino and Arima's daughter we're talking of here. If there's someone that can pull off a relationship with someone 16 years her senior and a father figure to boot, that would be her.
The real shocker for me here (short-lived as it was) was the where Yukino explained how she had re-married with Asaba after Detective Arima was shot by a criminal chuckles
I'm gonna miss this series.

This is about Kare Kano. And I too was shocked by the first page of the last chapter.

Haha, yea. same here. I really thought it was serious for a few, horrendous, seconds.
Wonderful manga anyways, it might be the best I've read.
Uhm... If I'll return to the topic:
Yea, having Asaba dating their daughter feels weird. It kind of fit in the story but when you think of it... no, I don't like it. But, it's fiction 🙂
However, I also had flashbacks from the time where Yukino thinks that Reiji is handsome. Oh well, that's not the same anyway since he didn't act as a "father" to her during her childhood.
