Hello! Thanks for stopping by. I have two separate requests. First, the main one: c392s

I want two characters who are on opposing sides. By that, I do not mean like a family feud - more like detective and thief. They can't get along, by the nature of their jobs. They must have playful two-sided banter, and eventually become very close, either as friends or lovers.

Now here's the part that rules out most Enemies Become Friends/Lovers series: preferably, their public lives and private lives should continue at parallels. For example, the detective knows the thief's identity in their private lives, but refuses to make the arrest unless the thief is caught fair and square in their public lives. At the same time, the detective gives his/her all to catch the thief in their public lives, and it has no negative effect of their private lives.

The only example I can think of is Deal, a Detective Conan fanfic (shounen ai).

My second request is simple. Phantom thieves! Particularly the playful kinds, who like riddles and teasing the police force. Kaitou Saint Tail and Magic Kaito are great examples.

Wow that's a hard one. The only thing that comes to my mind is not even a Manga or Anime, but if you don't care, try the british series "Luther" on BBC One. The Main Character is with the police and he has that kind of relationship with a woman that murdered her parents, but got away with it, because she was to clever to get caught.

I'm not into live action, but I'll keep Luther in mind if I get bored.

I'll give From Eroica With Love a try. I keep hearing about it and never got around to reading it.

I started reading Itsuwaribito Utsuho but didn't really like it. I'll try reading further and see if I like it this time.

I tried DN Angel a long time ago, but I don't him being sociable enough to be playful? Maybe I forgot too much of it. I'll try it again.

I'm currently reading Cat's Eye, but it's not what I want. Though she seems playful from the reader's point of view, it's not really apparent to the police force. All they see of her are monotone cards rather than playful interactions.

Thanks everyone! Keep them coming please!

The storytelling in Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne and Wild Act are too cliche for my tastes, but Himegimi to Sanbiki no Kemono seems good, so I'll continue reading it.

Jauhara Genya has been on my wish list for a long time, and I hadn't gotten around to reading it until now. It's great, especially the art~ I'll definitely continue it.

Thank you both for the suggestions!

Still looking for more. 🙂

HAHAHA well as i was reading your first comment about what you wanted, my first taught were CONAN, but you already seem to be reading it, and the magic kaito one also.

Tbh Lol it's been a really really long time since i read this, i've forgotten almost everything about it.
and it's adult content =/ but Mouse Let me warn you it got lots of fanservice and unneccary shit in it. but 😛 yeah.. hard topic 😀

I've heard of Mouse, but yeah, it seems like there's too much fanservice in it. The ecchi itself isn't bad by nature, but the way it's presented suffocates the plot almost out of existence. =( Thanks for suggesting though.

Any more?

I'll second DN Angel, unless you've tried it out again already. The "phantom thief" is quite playful...in the way that he is a complete playboy and womanizer. Actually, that's what caught my eye. His name is the Phantom Thief Dark Mousy, anyway.
