I'm looking for a manga with a character (and i want this character to be explored, not just mentioned briefly) with horrible past. 542165
like. the worst that you can think of.
as. bad. as. it. can. get.
and hopefully the character is still alive in the series. '

all of you have no idea...you want a bad past? Look no farther than 7 seeds. It's not bad, it's child abuse in several forms that leave 7 kids emotionally corrupt, there so scarred they have no morals.
It starts off with different characters so you have to wait a decent 30 chapters, but believe me, when you hit chapter 34(i think that's it) the backstory begins and it's terrifyind. It gave me nightmares! The abuse is towards upwards of 100 kids but focuses on a handful, and it starts from when there born all the way to the present.
You will not be disappointed, it's honestly brought me to tears.

7 Seeds Seconded. The people the previous poster is talking about have extreme PTSD because of their traumatic childhood.
Bitter Virgin Seconded. The female lead is the victim of severe sexual abuse.
Issho ni Neyou yo Less awful than some of these other characters. Male lead had a crazy alcoholic mom.
Hunter x Hunter One of the characters was
tortured by his assassin family from infancy.
Kuroshitsuji Awful past mainly because of an isolated event, though his childhood was never great. His
family was massacred and he was sold to a satanist who used him as a slave and constantly tortured him
Zankoku na Kami ga Shihaisuru Male lead is sexually abused by mother's boyfriend.
Nabari no Oh Male antagonist had a crazy foster family (mom died in childbirth). They
kept him isolated in the basement and decided to kill him when he turned 14 . He also is dying of an extremely painful illness.

and i'll add
kare kano-i wouldnt call it the most horrible but its certainly horrible and very touching..but you'll have to read more than half of the story to see it coming..but dont worry the last few volumes are completely dedicated to his past 😉 infact every single character in the story is "explored"
please save my earth-the main guy's past..just ing makes me sad 🙁

Well.... there can be a lot of different deffenitions for a 'horrible' past, but I pulled out the ones that the past is very terrible for some character's and in which that past plays a big part. The levels of how horrible those pasts were varries but each holds quite an impact in the story and can be defined as horrible (though maybe not as. bad. as. it. can. get. but still very bad)
The main character is not always the one with the tragic past, but in each one of the more major characters at least as a tragic past that plays a role in the story.
