I love going to bookstores. I used to frequent Borders until Kinokuniya opened up where I live and well, the rest is history. 😀 Kino has lots of manga and Japanese books, which I hope I'll be able to read one day. I don't really buy a lot of manga though, but I go to the shelves and look at the pretty covers and read the blurbs and drool over them. They're wrapped in plastic so no browsing though. 🙁 g3e18

But my first stop is usually the sci-fi/fantasy section, although I go there for sci-fi. Then I'll walk around literature and deviate into the bestseller's. Sometimes I stop by psychology or science and browse around if I'm in the mood.

I used to buy a book everytime I went to the bookstore (owning a book is just the greatest thing ever) but now I've cut back on spending, so the library is my best friend. (Reservation of books cost only $1.50!)

After the bookstore remodeled, I started going to the teen section and I still can't find where they've moved all my books. The adult manga used to be with the erotica, which I think is now in the sexuality section. Adult manga is now with the romance, I think.

I always go to the art section first.

Then crime and horror sections.....

Then the Biography and History section.

Then the Manga.

I rarely buy manga, so the only time I browse that section is if I plan to stay there a while and read the entire thing. (I am a bad person.)

Although, B&N has their manga the cheapest I've seen anywhere.

When I go to the bookstore(which doesn't happen often), I go straight to what I was looking for. Then I lurk around the bestsellers, then I go to the manga section and then to the cafe to get a muffin and some coffee!

I used to go to the art section, then manga, after that the adult section (that doesn't mean porn). Now I just go to the manga section after that I'll wonder around.

Used to go to child's section, then moved onto new teen releases and/or drama and romance, and now I go straight to the manga section 😎 . Though I still go straight to the coffee shop first hehe

I don't go to bookstores for manga, there's an import shop for anime and manga related paraphernalia (is this not a suitable word choice?). Everything there is grossly over priced... I really wanted to buy a Perfect Grade Gundam Model (Zaku II, Wing Gundam, and RX-78) but they cost at least $280 each!

I used to go around the larger book store (Chapters) in this order:
Sale sections (various thoughout the store)
Classical Fiction
Best Sellers (I never bought a single one)
Philosophy
Religious Studies (no particular religion, just in general)
Psychology
Modern Fiction
Magazines (Science, then Techology, and last News)

I don't do that anymore, now I pick up more books now without a set order.

Okay, I have a question: You know how some manga are wrapped up and marked mature content, 18+? Do the people at the bookstore card you or something to see if you're actually eighteen?

nope.. they don't ask for your age if you look mature enough. they just assume you are 18+ 😉

Considering how often I go there, they might just know my age. 🤣 There's a few that have memorized my number, so I can just see walking up to the with an adult manga and them looking at me like "Now you know you're too young for this." They might even call my Mom or something...

Oh, well, seven months.

Well, usually when I go to the book store, I'm in there to read, not buy. So I usually hit the manga section (there's two), first in the teen fiction cause it's closer, and then the other.

And then I just kind of roam in the general literature which has a bit of everything and What's New? section to see what author has debuted themselves.

But if I'm there to buy, then I always have the book in mind and find it asap and then leave. But I'm not inclined to any specific genre, since I don't like limiting myself.
