Emotionally unstable main characters caused by a psychological trauma 1r21l

Anyone know of any mangas that have a main character who becomes or is emotionally unstable, ex: depressed, crazed, etc. as a result of a psychological trauma such as finding out his girlfriend is cheating on him; having a harsh childhood; having a loved one suicide, something along those lines? An example of this would be Kare Kano, the second half with Arima's incident. Anyone know any mangas with any genres that have this? thanks in advance. 2n6e5s

Freesia - everyone is a little crazy in this one.
Excel Saga - its the funny side of bipolar disorder. Sometimes.
Neon Genesis Evangelion F'd up characters max.
Old Boy may also qualify
Shion no Ou her parents were murdered and then she had a game with the killer, which left her mute.
Sarcasm just doesn't work over the internet.

Mahoraba fits the bill. Although if you take this request a little less literally, then, I think, 90% of all the manga out there fits, too: no easier way to bring drama to the plot than to stick something Deeply Traumatic into the character's childhood. And of course it is - writing about real people is much harder than going with stock formulas...

I second Kodocha, Mahoraba and Bitter Virgin.
I can add:
Elfen Lied, warning a lot of violence.
Vampire Juujikai
Fruits Basket sort of.
Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu
Suzuka which I don't particularly like though.
What I like in Trivial Pursuit style. Pick your category:

Here's a good example: Lament of the Lamb. It's caused by a disease (psychological factors play an important part), childhood experience and loved one suicide, etc.

If you're into BL, I would consider Loveless. The main character undergoes domestic abuse and the other main character had a sucky childhood.

Shuto Heru The main characters friends/allies all get killed. You really see her change. As the story goes on you will see a lot of psychological issues lol.
