About the title... a5p2v

By chance, I came across the following quote from one of Italian fascist leader Benito Mussolini's martial speeches: 22t1a
"Blood alone moves the wheels of history."
Do you think there's a connection between the manga's title and the quote from above? And if so, how would you interpret it?
On a side note, Blood Alone up.

I always thought it was a play on "man can not live on bread alone." It makes sense to me, because it plays on a lot of the themes of the series. In contrast, I don't see Mussolini's quote as making as much sense in the context of the series.
I don't know how either quote would sound in Japanese/compare with Blood Alone's title in Japanese however, so I guess it's hard to know. Maybe it's a reference to something completely different, or simply makes more sense as a standalone title in Japanese. I think it's hard to know with only the English.
