I was on Wikipedia a few years ago and spoiled the ending for myself (I forgot if it was an accident or on purpose but whatever) and... 2x4a6t

Well, the wiki says that... Long story short, basically every character but the main character dies. I re-checked maybe a year ago to see if the info got changed to see if it was a troll or something but it was still the same info. So, do they mostly all die or not?

EDIT: The wiki page I viewed was of the Anime episodes, not the manga. I am, of course, asking about the manga though 😮

Wow, you've waited so many months for a reply. =) usually wiki is pretty accurate. if it says characters die, its probably true. why dont you skim through it to see what happens, its what i do to see if ill like reading something.

I'm not sure if you're even interested in an answer at this point, it's been so long, but just in case you were/for the benefit of future readers -

The ending in the manga is definitely not a tragedy. I didn't put that in spoilers because it's a direct reply to your post, but here's kind of what happens (in a general sense):

None of the important main(good) characters die. Plenty of the bad guys do. The protagonist gets a happy ending/life, so does pretty much everyone else.

More specifically though (and this will pretty much spoil the whole ending),

Ginta basically kicks everyone's ass, even his dad turns out to be alive, and they go home and live happily ever after, or as far as we know. They leave behind their friends in the other world, though, so I guess that's a little bittersweet.

I just finished reading the manga series literally half an hour ago, so I'm pretty sure I'm right on this one. From what I've heard the manga and anime plot are pretty different, so I can't confirm what happens in the anime version.

I watched the anime a long time ago, but I'm pretty sure its not a tragedy either. Although it does sound like it differs slightly from the manga.
