well, its better than having harima still craving for Tenma-chan's love... 3a64v

As I am a loyal Flag faction (Harima x Eri), I will certainly satisfied with this ending,it was far more better than the School Rumble's pie-throwing party ending..It makes me make a 'Huh? What the hell?!' face...

About the future clips about ErixHarima, I think Karasuma is the one that have that thoughts...
(well, it really doesn't have any connection to Max's thoughts, though)

Wait so how was that harima X sawachika a mental image? In the previous chapter, yakuma and tenma are visiting karasuma together, and in the graduation chapter harima X sawachika show up under the same circumstances. Therefore, that scene being a mental image doesn't necessarily make sense. All the non parallel world-chapters are connected with each other if you hadn't noticed.

Finally finished it =o

everything said is really just circumstantial. Unless the mangaka came out and said what he really meant it to be, it's all just our interpretations of it. Kind of a way to appease all factions.

I personally would like to believe that 10 years in the future it wound up a Harima x Yakumo x Eri triple-set 🙂

I liked it myself but it did confuse me a little I just think of it as a open ending, open endings ain't to bad but they leave the imagination up to the reader so I would like to think erixharimaxyakumo 😀 Akira, Ichijou and Lala we're my other favorites

Its a clip from the future that Karasuma is seeing. 😀

Well, after reading SR I think these endings are better... but still not the way I would have liked.

I don't think the image of Harima+Eri with a baby is connected with the previous chapter when yakumo visits her sister. why? because if I correctly yakumo says to herself that harima is still in love with her sister,... so having a baby with Eri would contradict that.

I usually don't write much in forums, so I think that to compensate i should write long posts?? Anyway, for me the manga should have ended much later: for example, after harima is "dumped" in the walking festival he asks Yakumo to be with him and help him with the manga. That seemed ok, but then in just a few chapters not only he stops drawing manga but leaves to do silly things like fighting... then Eri finds him and the story seems that is going to continue more or less fine, with the same plot twist like having to pretend to be his fiancé while living with yakumo. And then again we jump into the future where he no longer draws manga and is wandering around and then we have the pie ending... So it was pretty bad, right? as an ending, right? thus the need of SRZ, which is fun, but is not a real ending since the stories could or could not be actually connected.

SR should have continued after the walking festival as follows: Harima & co. send Tenma to the USA to do what she does. Harima goes to fight around, eri finds him, they pretend to be engaged and he lives with Yakumo. If the manga had ended here, it would have given us the opportunity to hope for a continuation, like their last high school year, and maybe even see a real development between him and Yamuko (and Eri). Because the way I saw things, Harima just realized that Eri was not a shallow person as he previously thought, a good start to be friends and get along, but not necessarily to end up dating seriously even less having babies! not just yet! Besides, I personally think that Eri had much more to gain by having him as a friend than as a lover, after all she always thought that guys only saw her a a pretty piece of decoration, while Harima finally saw her as a "person". On the other hand there is Yakumo who has been with him muuuuch longer, there are more chances of him noticing her once his feelings for Tenma calm down...

There were too many characters whose situation could have been better developed with another series, that way the future of Harima-Eri-Yokumo-Suou-Haina etc etc could have been better planned/showed (?) Because even if we forget about the dynamic trio of Harima& co. there are a bunch of other characters that deserved more development, does any one feel the same?

With that said, SRZ was a fine addition to the series, it showed different endings and non endings which allow us to imagine what really happened and replace some scenes we had to read in the original series (e.g. chess game, yakumo visiting Tenma and confirming that Harima is indeed living with her and drawing manga, not touring the world...)

Simply made me regret reading the original, and to be honest the comedy of the original started to die in the last third of the series, and the fact that there were so many characters who look alike made even more confusing.
For better school comedies I suggest you read/watch:
Seitokai Yakuindomo.>>>>>Bold, very funny(watch the anime)!
Kyo Kara Ore Wa!>>>>>Extremely funny, I love how the protagonist is so evil!
Hayate no Gotoku!>>>>I think you all know it.
Pretty Face>>>>10 times better then SR IMHO.
Gokusen.>>>>> Seinen otaku comedy with an actual ending unlike dear ol' SR.

As far as I'm concerned, Harima and Eri never got together. Now if the stories in SRZ are actually connected to the plot, which I can't see why they can't be, it really was Max just seeing things. During the ending to the original SR, it ended with some unnamed amount of time later, with Tenma and Karasuma getting married, with Harima and Eri not even together. The last chapter in SRZ is a depiction of their graduation ceremony, where it's only been a year thus far, and Harima had just been sulking around for a year about his Manga.

There really is no way to figure out how this really ended, unless the author actually states it himself. The only things we can truly say is that Tenma does not reciprocate the same type of love to Harima, and both Yakumo and Eri are in love with Harima.

Considering in chapter five of SRZ that neither Eri nor Yakumo have seen Harima for quite some time also eludes to the idea that they have been in with each other. It really is just up to out own opinion as to who he ended up with, and personally I wanted him to end up with Yakumo. I do, however, not mind him ending up with Eri, because I enjoyed both of their characters. I did find Eri to lack some depth, alas it's fine, the series is over, and I can move on, hoping that somewhere, Harima has ended up with Yakumo. . .
