The Legend of Zelda is considered an action RPG. Dunno why, 'cause to me it doesn't seem like an RPG at all.
Glados is a bitch. She made me kill the companion cube, the only friend I'll ever have. 😢

well i guess it's cuz of the fact that u get items that help you on your quest and hearts increases? Idk kinda like kingdom hearts but more linear in RPG development (as in you only get certain items and after that you're done).

I love all RPGs in general, but I haven't played a good one in quite awhile..
I'm a cheap and poor student, so I normally just play crappy online ones.
Does the walker choose the path, or the path the walker?

You probably meant FF IX instead of FF VIIII. xD That Roman number doesn't even exist.
Another great RPG is Oblivion...

Well, it doesn't really have a story, like all those other Jrpgs, but it's pretty great. It has lots of quests, and also a main quest, which you could consider the story of the game. It's really good though, I was addicted to it when I first bought it. @_@

Oblivion is a game I really want to try even if I prefer JRPGs and a third-person perspective. There's just something about a first-person perspective RPG that I want to experience for myself. I want to pick it up on the 360, though, for achievements.

Probably Persona 3: great story, awesome soundtracks, cool characters... 😁 😁 . luv it a lot.
I also like FF series (except XII), Suikoden, Tales series.
But P3 is the best 😛

technically rpg means role playing game, thus in zelda(one of the first rpg's) your in the role of link. the words just come to mean "pretty much final fantasy"
but on topic, i love me some FF(1-9) and tales. and but my favorite just may be chrono trigger (masterpiece of FF/DQ/DBz art)

Actually, that's not the intention of role playing. Role playing provides choices in character development to the player, so they can play the role as they choose. The term originates from p&p (pen & paper) Dungeons & Dragons, where players picked a party role and biography created themselves, rather than an already formed character.
And The Legend of Zelda has always been classified as adventure since it left the NES (where The Adventure of Link was an RPG). Feel free to check the nintendo website.
