I'm talking along the lines of Basara, where there is a conflict outside of the couple, like in a war and the guy is trying to kill her or something - not ones where the ONLY conflict is that they don't like eachother 5lra
Preferably, but not required, the girl is capable and emotionally strong like the lead of Basara, and it's in a historical setting. They don't have to get together, though that is the best outcome.
I like these:
Legend of Nereid - though it's been a while since I've read it, so correct me if I'm wrong
(it's no coincidence that they're all ftm genderbend but I figured it'd be asking for too much haha)
Kinda like these:
The show voltron - I don't like that he tries to manipulate Allura and they leave eachother (if they get together I want them to stay like that, but I haven't seen S7 though)
Crazy Girl Shin Bia - I don't like this personality in a female lead

Hello there! I know this may seem really late, but I thought these manga might be something you're looking for.
From far away
Although, the main male leads aren't really the antagonist, these mangas definitely give a Basara vibe. When it comes to that historical, action, and romance manga.
Zettai Heiwa Daisakusen
In this manga the main two characters are enemies and are royalty from different countries. But, they decided to get married to end the war.
Gu fang bu zi shang
Although it may never be of hiatus.
Princess
it focuses on many couples and the story is about royalty and politics therefore it will be very serious and sad. However, you will not find more romance between a villain and a heroine than in princess. King Skadei Tor is the villain, he is cruel, powerful, and has great power but the only one who can have influence on him is lala, a mere commoner. Be careful, skadei is not a good lover and is very mean to her
