This is kinda half a discussion, half a "looking for" topic, as while I have pressing questions involving this, I ultimately wanna try to track things down. 6t30g

I'm mainly talking here about the series Jumbor, done by the creator of Shaman king. Actually a really fun shounen manga, where the so called 'weapons' of the characters and villians are construction tools as that is their original purpose. lots of tropes here and there too, but I really love the setting and the characters as well as the themes.

anywho, the original one was Juuki Ningen Jumbor, which took place in a distant future after humanity had crumbled and rebuilt itself, so it was practically a fantasy world at that point. It had a limited run but a good open ending.

here's where it gets confusing:

almost immediately after I had finished reading Juuki ningen Jumbor, another one came out just simply called Jumbor. This was a reboot of it, taking the tone in a different direction (though standing separatly pretty well from the original) where it actually begins in our modern era and the main villian literally causes the apocalypse. its sort of an "alternate continuity" reboot, jumping off from a different starting point and handling similiar scenarios really well in a different time and place. Manga Updates lists both this and the original as alternate stories and has this one as ongoing.

however, it does not list another series called Jumbor, which also has started and is a "300 years in the future" sequel to the original Juuki Ningen Jumbor. Its a direct sequel, but shares the same name as the reboot. This popped up after I had started reading the Reboot Jumbor and took a break from that to let the scanalations get farther, so I was surprised to not only find a sequel series off of the original, but it using the same name as the reboot

Here's the kicker though; it seems like no site out there actually acknowledges all three. not even wikipedia. All of them acknowledge the original Juuki Ningen Jumbor, but if you actually look for a series just called Jumbor, most of them only have the Sequel to Juuki Ningen Jumbor and no mention of the reboot, where as the rare few have the reboot Jumbor (eatmanga being one of them) but no mention of the sequel to the original.

Manga Updates, as stated before, only seems to have an entry for the Original and the Reboot, which thanks to that and eatmanga, is like the only thing I can really find acknowledging the reboot even exists and is ongoing. So atleast I'm not going crazy here, cause for a bit today i actually thought I had imagined the reboot.

Does anyone know the reason for this weird organization and lack of series acknowledgement? Also, is there anyone actively scanalating the reeboot still? I'm glad they continued the original series, especially after that good open-ended ending, but I felt the reboot actually stood really well on its own as a separate series, so it'd be an injustice if it was forgotten entirely.

Addendum: It seems as if many of the places that have the sequel series have a two-chapter "oneshot" for the sequel series and then suddenly the reboot manga picks up on its third chapter. this makes it even more confusing.

So really at this point I also need to find out if the sequel to the original is even still going on or if it was a two chapter short run.
