looking for lone protagonists like in Mushishi or Mononoke. The main protagonist travels alone, and does not gain people through out the series. (I don't mind if they only gain one person.) 6fc3i

There is a Loner Protagonist tag that you could check, despite not everything fits imho: http://mangaupdates.conexionsite.com/series.html?category=Loner+Protagonist&orderby=rating
And I'd suggest Vagabond. Also Kurogane imho fits the mood of a lone main character, despite not strictly being alone all the time.
