Ippo is a very timid person. He also brings that personality into the ring, besides his match with Date Eiji and the second match with Sendo, he is always like a cowering fool in the first few rounds, and then after taking what seems like hundreds of punches he miraculously turns the match around with a few of his own punches. I expected him to gain some confidence, to get some of that ferocity Sendo has, and put on the pressure on the opponent. Ippo's matches always have this annoying routine. It's like the author has some inferiority complex and he is making up for it by making the protagonist of his manga weak on purpose and then get ridiculously strong through sheer will, like the fantasy a person suffering from an inferiority complex would have. It's damn annoying, it was fun in the beginning when he really did not have much experience, but now i just feel like it's the ubisoft effect all over again. Using the same formula again and again, and now it's gotten to the point where it's not just annoying anymore, it's anger inducing, it's the worst kind of turn off.... 213sw

So my question is, does this ever stop ? Or will he be a mumbling fool for the entire 1210 chapters ? I don't think I can handle this if it continues. I feel like dropping the manga, I'm at the fight vs Sanada(the doctor that moved up a weight class)
