Haven't really read a good, long manga in about an year. I'm almost certain I've read everything worth reading that is currently available right now. I want somebody to prove me wrong. 342u70

note:no yaoi, or Shoujo manga

Check out kkow if you haven't yet... also shingetsutan tsukihime. Was good.

Didn't see ai kora in your list either(imo the best of the harem genre in of protags)... maybe usagi drop for a more down to earth read... bit of a twist to make it interesting too

I saw your wish list! start reading Pandora Hearts. It is really good. Maybe difficult to read, but you can take it as a challenge.
Try again to read Trace. Is kind of slow, but it is still good.

Yotsubato!
anything by Adachi Mitsuru
Ode to Kirihito
Taiyou no Ijiwaru
Planetes
A Girl by the Sea
Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind
A Distant Neighborhood

there are also many excellent action/mystery/adventure/historical series that are shojo, aka not your typical high school romance shojo (ex. Banana Fish, Himitsu, Angel Sanctuary, Ooku, etc. Certainly better than most seinen/shounen series of such genres I've read, not to mention more brutal, violent, and disturbing.)

My suggestion to you...

The best thing for you to do is look at other 's lists to see how much they compare to your's. Then, if they compare will, look at some of the series that you have not read, but keep in mind... what other's like you may not and what you like they may not. So, such as "good" are mostly meaningless.

Also, you would not be as pleased with a series that someone else has suggested, for you are already looking at them from a negative perspective. It might be best that you just take a step back from reading manga, for a few weeks, and see if your perspective changes.

Udon no Hito was just recently released and it's probably the best short work I've read in a while. You should try it if you haven't done so yet.

::Edit::
Heh, totally missed the "long manga" part. Anyway, I'd recommend Naoki Urasawa's Monster and 20th Century Boys. Definitely worth reading (assuming you haven't).

Ditto what Toto said. I usually just look at the lists of people who share the same interests as me (in general) and pick from there.

Well, currently I'm pretty much into Gangsta., but as Toto - more or less - has said it before: Tastes differ. ^^"

Maybe try Living Game if you haven't already. It's an older style, but really quite enjoyable.
