Solanin and Fever
well umm...in both of them the main characters failed a lot before because they were submitting to social standards instead of doing what they really want to do...they both might be a little depressing(and they both contain deaths of side characters) but they both have the believe-in-yourself-and-your-abilities conclusion

Onani Master Kurosawa

Basically about a social recluse who's a bit sick in the head. Makes mistakes and his life hits a real rough low point. But he obtained extreme desire to change himself for the better, and worked really hard for his redemption and earn the forgiveness of the people he wronged.

Strongest Man Kurosawa. The most motivating manga I have ever read.

Welcome to the NHK - the anime was quite motivating (not sure about the manga and novel)

P.S. It actually motivated me two exams (which I initially failed) I was about to drop out from Uni because of those.

I second "Welcome to NHK" ^^

My personal ones were
Skip Beat!
Historie.

Manga that truly motivates me is well-written, well drawn and an absolute page turner manga that I cannot stop skimming through again and again. Like Monster. Or Flowers of Evil. It assures me that talent and a special something can take you pretty far, in making works of art that will entertain many.

In all honesty, manga can never motivate me enough. It's there for fun or comfort but motivation is a bit far.

for me there's ashita no ousama, cat street and honey and clover

also, G Senjou Heaven's Door, but that was a bit forceful

and I have no idea why, but sakuran.

I second Honey and Clover (heartbreaking though) and Cat Street!
Also, other good ones are Kuragehime , Dengeki Daisy and Mars

Hajime no Ippo is #1 most motivating manga for me.

The Legendary Moonlight Sculptor (Novel) at the beginning.

Bakuman at the beginning is good for specifically motivating me to draw.

Sports manga like Eyeshield 21 and No Side tend to be good at motivating.

i agree completely with bakuman ( the beggining was very good and motivating allthough it eventually started getting repetitive closer to the end i found but still a great manga) hajime no ippo was pretty motivational and good as well, i know that there are a few others for me but i cant their names for the life of me only the story, ow well
