So I read this sometime back and wanted to reread it again. If I right, it was about how a young man became one of the courtesans of the emperor and was the favorite too. He planned on killing the emperor to get revenge for his father (who was a prince of another country and was known to be beautiful), because it was the emperors fault he and his father had to run away from his homeland. And, as a result the mans hair turned white from trauma. His father and the emperor were past lovers and their falling out was what led the emperor to attack the other's country.
