Not reading a manga because of hair style sounds strange to me...
I really like long-haired guys, and short-haired girls.
But I'm tottaly fine with other styles, I don't really give much attention to it.
Only really good or bad hair styles usually make enough impresion to notice.

It's like a normal, clean house, you don't really look and appreciate it being clean, you take it for granted. Apposed to when you see a dirty mess, or clean perfection.

So, I guess it's more subconscious for me, the hair syle thing.

I don't have a problem with short or long-haired female characters- I don't mind that at all. I just slightly prefer long-haired female characters to short-haired ones (coming from a long-haired person myself).

But dropping a manga because of a girl with short hair is kinda.....I don't don't know what to say.

that's okay XD I'm partial to long hair myself (or on myself at least, I'd never cut my hair anyway ;A; )

anyway I guess I can understand I avoid certain manga because of the artstyles. Like I don't know how to describe it, 1 style is the cute cg style that looks like the special pics from dating/otome? games and another cute cute style it seems that the manga is usually aimed at preteens. Really boring shoujo (er sorta like Kodocha only cutesyer XD;; )

hmm... for me it's girls with glasses, i really really hate seeing girls with glasses in manga.....

for example i read the first volume of Ibara no Ou and thought it was good.....but just knowing that theres that glasses-girl makes me not wanna go back and read it.......

but back on topic, i normally dont like short haired girls either........with that said, short hair to me is hair that doesn't touch halfway down your neck....but there's always exceptions

dont really mind short haired girls cuz some girls have wierd facial shapes so short hair works for some of them.

i have short hair atm so i cant complain its a lil below my shoulders. long hair is too tedious to mess w/ everyday. 😃

Long hair makes a woman/girl a girl or woman because short hair or really short hair looks like a male hairstyle.BUT I know there are any few short hairs females that i´ll say they really hot/cute/beautiful etc. .I would never stop reading manga because of a short hair female maincharacter.I hope and wait to see a long hair female in this manga and make her my favorite one.see yaa.

As long as they aren't bald or have mohawks, I'm fine with any hair length on their head. On the other hand, if they have massive bushes under they armpits... 😔

Hmm, I don't pick manga based on character appearance, I pick them based on the plot. I also don't pick which characters I like based on their appearance. Personality is what matters when it comes to characters, and trust me, I love some god-awful ugly characters.

When it comes to beauty, design, and cuteness, I do take hair into though. I think most girls with long hair in manga are either generic enough to avoid my attention, or are just sort of ugly. For example, Rinali in D.Gray-man. I like her as a person, but I thought that she was quite unattractive until she got a haircut.

The only girls I can think of that had long hair that I thought was cute/pretty were:
-Mikuru (Only with pigtails) (Haruhi)
-Hatsune Miku (Vocaloid)
-Nia (TTGL)
-Yoko (TTGL)

I am the same dude. DAMN I HATE MANGA GIRLS WITH SHORT HAIR IN MANGA. AND I MEAN IT!!!!

No offence lady's.

I dont want to lie about but if i see a manga with a short hair protagonist i tend to skip it.

I dont know why but i realy feel uncomfortable about it.

In the end everyone its taste for me. LONG HAIR ROCKS 😀

Ken akamtsu also has a long hair fetish awahhahahaah MAYBE THAT IS WHY I ENJOY HIS WORK 😛

Well, all that generally sops me from reading a manga is if it offends me, so, being a feminist and all, I will almost always skip manga that portray women in a highly sexualised way, or where it is the norm amount the men in the manga to treat them with no respect, even where respect may be due. I am wondering wether you guys that hate girls with short hair in manga, feel the same way about girls in real life with short hair?

the only hairstyle on female that puts me off is pixie hairstyle, too short for my taste.

also twintails on characters above 15, just.. no...
yeah, it's cute in manga characters, but if you considering real life...

@rattixeurope. Whe are talking about mangas. In real life everybody has his or her taste. And what one likes or dont like is her or his problem. And the world would be not interesting if everybody had the same taste would it 😕 ?

I dont tend to look into mangas to that degree. Like hey they portray the girls in a very sexualized way or heee they are like sluts here etc etc. Let me tell you something the manga culture is very sexualized. If you are looking it a feminine point of view you will find very very little about that.

Even there are female mangakas and they portray the woman very very sexualized in it.

I only read mangas for fun and nothing more and i dont make a comparation with real life.

I mean no offence. And besides girls with long hair have nothing to do with a sexualized look or something.

I only say i tend to skipp those manga because i dont feel fine with reading them if they have a female protagonist with short hair.
