There is a comic a popular artistic from tumblr works on that I can't . It's fantasy and slighty supernatural in theme. The main character is a woman who has a friend(?) who is a guy. They find a little boy in their adventures who is drawn back because of unfortunate events. He has red eyes? I think? And the man and woman pair look after him kinda. The duo work with supernatural events. Kinda police-esque.
