So like, just how good is this manga? In of overall story, don't care much for action. Is it worth reading? I can't bring myself to get past the cringe-inducing title but it seems to be highly rated so I'm tempted... a5747

So far it seems promising, I enjoyed it. But it's not very long yet, and I'm not familiar with the original novel. It isn't really action focused as much as kind of a mystery/psychological.
That being said it really depends on what kind of manga you like. It's not the type of manga that will appeal to everyone, but if you like this genre, you'll enjoy it.
Bottom line: it's only 13 chapters, just read it. You'll figure out if you like it pretty quickly.

The concept is very good. The character development of the main character progresses smoothly throughout and makes a really powerful setting for the story. The action does not occur all the time, rather the story is about the character's growth in both physical and mental stages as he struggles to overcome his trial. Recently, Hollywood had adapted a Westernized version of this manga named the Edge of Tomorrow. You can go watch this movie in theaters if you wish when it gets released, but personally I feel that by Hollywoodizing it they have lost various important parts of the story's character development and the serious situation that the protagonist is in. Rather the Americanized movie places greater emphasis on action, comedy, and fan-service than the manga.

How can you say that about a movie that hasn't even been released in theatres yet? Please don't use your own speculation and stereotyping as facts, especially when all the critic reviews for the movie seem to be really good.

Actually, the movie has been released in Europe already. The UK release is dated today, 30th of May. Here in Finland, it started rolling in theaters on the 28th. I had tickets booked for myself and my roomie for yesterday, but had to cancel since he had a rough day and didn't feel like going. Going to see it on Sunday instead.
And I highly doubt that the critics have been comparing the movie to the original novel. I'm inclined to think that most of the criticts aren't even aware of the novel and definitely haven't read it.
